We need a place for overnight rest in the heat of central valley. This one is convenient in location. Quiet except traffic noise from far. Pool is great for and early evening exercise and cool off.

Wifi unfortunately is down. But the cellular signal is strong so no problem. There are long term residents, very friendly - had a good chat in the pool.

Shopping area use right in front.

Will definitely stay here again.

I need a one night quiet campground. The staff was very pleasant, laundry, restroom, shower are together and VERY CLEAN and well lit. Shower got HOT water feeling good in December. In the morning talk to pleasant neighbors and biked around the airport looking at gliders. A pity last night was windy and cloudy making stargazing impossible. Strongly recommend and will stay here.

This CG is surrounded by few trails only. The environment is great. It is very popular as it's very close to the Bay area. We went there to relax under the redwood. The only complaint is the loud music into the quiet hour. Since we like boondocks and hiking, this nice campsite is just too civilized for us. CG is $40 for RV in dry camping!

we had 3 days / 2 nights there. It's wonderful in terms of enjoying the nature. It's quiet and pleasant. We had the RV hookup of water and electricity (no sewage, has to use the dump station), but we spent majority of the time under the sky.

Althought the weather forecast of Bay Area and Waltsonville was warm for this time period, the temperature dropped before dinner of the 2nd day. The night was cold with marine layer coming in. The cloud/mist was among the trees; it was beautiful. So better be prepared in terms of your gear for cool and wet condition.

The only disappointment is the potable water. It has a strong odour, like metalic. we checked the water at the restroom and other campsite and all has this odour. Luckily we brought a 5 gallon water from home for cooking and drinking. Also we didn't fill the fresh water tank with it.

Upper Pines CG is the only one open to RV during off-season in Yosemite Valley. It's right next to Curry village with easy walk to Mirror Lake and Misty Trail and served by the shuttle bus through the valley. It is very crowded in layout. I can't find the path to the nearest restroom and had to walk between campsites (the best I can figure out the boundary). The campsite I'm assigned to is fairly small but with enough parking space for the RV. 6 feet behind the food storage locker are the tents of my neighboring sites!
As noted in the Yosemite website the CG in the valley is shaded by both the trees and the cliffs. There's no direct sunshine after lunch and the RV is under the tree so that the solar panel is not charging the battery forcing me to turn on the generator.
There is a checkin booth at the campground entrance. If you miss the 10am-4pm time slot when a ranger is onsite checking you in, you must go back before 12 noon the following day; check-in and check-out are both 12 noon.. I had more than 1 site for the 3 days, so I had to go back for each new site during the 24 hours that I stay in that site. It's a pain and unique over many NPs I visited; but I can understand: 1. make sure people show up for his reservation, 2. make sure campers know how to keep the food properly stored against black bears!
It is quiet during the stay; it's noisier than other NPs due to the crowdedness. Yosemite valley has become a tourist attraction now with its beauty; probably 99% of visitors to Yosemite NP visit the valley only!
