This is such a great well developed campground. Beautiful large enclosed hot spring pool with changing rooms and a hot pool as well. Stayed in a tent cabin. Totally glamping. Tent cabins even come with a free smore kit.

Few buildings remain as they were during the 1940's. Very interesting to see how Japanese Americans were forced to live in this temporary community. Though the scenery is majestic, you can only imagine the cold Sierra winters!

Definitely not the fanciest hotel but the theme rooms are decked out floor to ceiling. Very friendly service. Our host even walked us to our room and showed us around. I stayed in the "jungle room". Comfortable bed and double shower heads, not to mention a huge (clean) hot tub where you can sit and drink wine and watch tv. Dusty desert hotel but not bad at all.

WOW! This place seems to be little know even to the locals. This FREE park up in the hills overlooks the Yucca Valley and there are a dozen or possibly MORE giant statutes of Jesus towering over you. There are even statutes in ruins, legless, armless. Very creepy and Beautiful. For the best shots be there around twilight!

This is a GREAT stop if you're near Palm Springs or on your way to Yucca Valley or Joshua Tree. Not only is it free, but there is an informational sheet at the entrance so you can give yourself a tour. Other people may recognize this artist as the man who created the Watts Towers in LA, before he retired to the desert. This stop is not very far from the 29 Palms Freeway. Enjoy!

I really wish this was still here. Look up High Desert Test Sites for cool art instillations throughout this part of the desert. At their headquarters you can even pick up a map for a self guided tour
