Such a fun, beautiful, and easy hike in the old Columbia River Highway. 4 miles out and back from large parking lot with decent bathrooms. $5 fee but we’ll worth it. Lots of shade and views.

We felt like we were plunked in to a little village in Spain. It’s such a beautiful setting. Definitely worth a stop.

We stopped here on our way from Cortez to Moab. It’s a bit out of the way but it’s a worthy stop. There is a nice visitor center with restrooms and drinking water and a friendly ranger. To really see the ruins, you should walk along the rim of the canyon on a well marked trail. About 2 miles. There is a 80 foot drop into the canyon floor and what goes down, must come up - so it’s a little bit strenuous but short. The ruins are cool!

As of June 2, 2021, the Four Corners Monument is temporarily closed by the Navajo Nation Health Dept. Check to make sure it is open before you go.

It’s not easy to miss the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park off Hwy 64. We stopped it to see what it was all about. The memorial appears to have been the brainchild of a grieving (wealthy) parent who lost his son in Viêt Nam. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and very well done. There is a chapel, a small amphitheater, a museum, a gift store, and a veteran’s cemetery (still under construction). The museum is fairly large with many interesting items. Very glad we stopped by.

Just spent one night here on our way to Santa Fe but this KOA was AWESOME! I heard that there are new owners here and sounds like they have done a lot of improvements. The bathrooms/showers were excellent. Clean and fully enclosed - my favorite! There were also a number of them which is a pleasant surprise. We were greeted with a cookie upon checking and were told we could order a home cooked dinner to be delivered to our trailer if we wanted. We did not opt for it but sounded fun. They also offer a free breakfast buffet. The laundry facility was also clean and everything worked great with the exception of the vending for laundry soap. Didn’t care - brought my own. While I wouldn’t call this a lovely location, there was a very nice view of the desert-scape. Well done, new owners! By the way, if you want to grab a beer, we recommend Route 66 Junkyard Brewery just a couple miles away.

We used this park as a one night rest. There is no shade but the park is well maintained. There is a large shaded patio attached to the facilities with some nice tables and propane fire pits. The bathrooms are clean but the water for the showers was either freezing or scalding. Friendly staff.

Clean and well kept spaces. Large park with several shower/bath facilities. I LOVED the showers! Each one is an enclosed bathroom with everything you need! I wanted to stay for hours. We had no problem with noise and the park was a decent drive to central Vegas or Red Rock Canyon.

Quiet park with lots of shade. There is only one building for showers (2 per gender) and toilets (2 stalls per gender) and so your site may be quite a walk to those facilities. The grounds are well kept and orderly. It’s about a half mile walk to several shops and restaurants.
