A very nice RV park and cabins campground with full hook ups and long, level spaces to accommodate any size. There is a laundry and a shower house.

On the directions: it’s literally (south) off Hwy 160, about 15 miles east of Durango. Look at it in satellite mode in Apple Maps or Google Maps and you’ll be all set. We’d been up north is Silverton in the mountains during some summer rains and this was a great place to dry out on our way East. We lucked out and arrived when the best spot, about middle of the property, between the 2 large ponderosa pines was free. One LTE bar of T-Mobile that we boosted to three.

With a little bit of pre-scouting we found a spot tucked away from the main, busier areas. Great access to both Ouray & Silverton bring literally off the Million Dollar Hwy, though just 5+ mikes north of Silverton. Good access to trails and Jeeping. Minor noise from the road.

This 2020 summer heat has become The Thing to Avoid At All Costs. Elevation, elevation, elevation! After spending almost 2 months in SW Colorado chasing beautiful views & temps under 82 degrees, but having to head back home to the central Texas oven, Taos Ski Valley is just the place for these days. Yes, it’s a parking lot, but an expansive one with glorious views in all directions and trails galore. The ski village eateries are open, with outdoor venues or pick up service. Sleeping at night with the windows open and the sound of the Rio Hando - terrific! We’ll be back this way again.

Will definitely come here again to escape the Texas heat. If you scout the road well there are spots far enough from it to avoid the logging traffic dust. Good T-Mobile & OTA TV if you want to know what’s going on in the world. Clean area. Good hiking on Jackson Mtn and great access to Jeeping the area. Pagosa Springs is a blast. If you buy a week’s membership at the Springs & soak daily, it’s a very reasonable cost for a great way to start or end your day. We’re hooked on the area so I almost hesitate to talk about it.

It was clean enough (we always clean it up far better than we find it) but was too close to the Wolf Creek Pass road for us. Commercial ATV tours run up this road. We moved on.

Our visit coincided with Columbus Day weekend and so it was pricey. Our space, #89, was stunningly located for a 180 degree view of Lake Ontario. Could sit & taken in the view for days on end. The rv park owners are certainly making an effort to improve the profit seems, with a newly paved asphalt road that goes from the office to the bathhouse. Sites are level and as advertised. If they don’t run out of cash & keep improving the campground, it could become a solid small place located within lot of happy explorations in the area.

This is a huge campground that appears to be transitioning to a permanent residents kind of place. We stayed in mid-October so it was very easy to see that most occupants of this vast property were not campers but residents, occupying somewhere between 2/3 to 3/4 of the place. In the summer we’re sure it fills up because it’s a pretty part of PA & they have a huge pool and other campground amenities. But if you want a campground feel, this isn’t it. The bathhouse needs some work but would do in a pinch. The laundry was quite nice. The staff was really friendly. We were here to explore the Laurel Highlands and it’s well-located for that.

We had to change our itinerary at the last moment & they were so accommodating. It proved to be an excellent location for exploring & enjoying Acadia NP. Spaces were a bit tight which is why only 4 stars but the staff & service were so helpful in every way.

This was a real treat. We barely fit, so definitely not for a class A longer than our 33 feet, but such a place! The drive to the headwaters of the Rio Grande - the 3rd longest river in the US- is just a short distance away. Would definitely come again if in the area.
