Great free dump station offered by Affinity RV. It’s free but we usually buy something from the parts store just to say thanks! Propane also available here.

Riverside campground is near the Bartlett Dam. There are about 12 primitive sites, some have picnic tables. All have fire pits. Vault toilets are available. There is also a dumpster for trash. The sites are in rough shape like boondock sites but cost $10 per night. The drive in is mostly paved until the last few miles which is a maintained gravel road with lots of ruts and bumps. We stayed on a weeknight and there was only one other camper there.

We stayed here on a quick one night stopover during our road trip. At 9000 feet, temps in August were cool and great for sleeping. The setting is lovely with lake views. Sites are small but functional. No hookups. Unfortunately during our stay in summer 2019, the water in the campground was not functioning.

Really nice setting. Lake Powell at sunset is gorgeous. We stayed here on a one night quick stopover on our road trip. With no reservations we were fortunate to find they had a couple of full hookup sites available for us. We needed the air conditioning because the temps were high 90s, low 100s. Our site had power, water and sewer. It was large and fairly private. As this is a desert setting there are no trees to speak of. Minus one star because the price is a little steep.

We stayed here for one night on our road trip. Located along the highway with easy access for a quick stopover. There are two campgrounds here, one with full hookups (Chokecherry) and one without (Great Horned Owl). We arrived around 6 pm and managed to score a site with full hookups. Power and water worked fine. Our trailer couldn’t accommodate the location of the sewer drain, but fortunately for us it wasn’t needed for a one night stay. Temps were beautiful in August, cool nights and warm days. Nice picnic table with ramada. As this is a desert setting there are few shade trees.

We usually visit this campground once every summer. There are two sections in this campground, one for RVs where the sites are close together and have electric hookups. Not much shade or privacy. The other section has no electricity, tents and smaller RVs camp there, it’s more secluded and much more shady. We have camped in both sections.
Sites can now be reserved online which has its pros and cons. Some people book a site, preventing others from booking, but then they never show up. We do try to reserve in advance to avoid disappointment. During our past weekend visits there were always a few spots available in the non electric area but the RV sites were all occupied.
There is some noise from motorcycles going to Jerome but that doesn’t bother us. Facilities here are clean.

We stayed at Canyon for 5 nights in August 2019. Reservations must be made well in advance. We managed to book a res by checking online every day until we found availability probably due to a cancellation. Check in was easy, we arrived around 2:30 PM and there was no lineup. Campsites are assigned by management and we were fortunate to get a fantastic site in K loop. Our site was large and well shaded. Laundry and showers are available. 2 showers are included per day. Canyon Village is across the street with dining, shopping and a beautiful visitor center. Although the campground is very large it never felt over crowded. Location is great for exploring Hayden Valley and Lamar Valley wildlife. Really enjoyed our stay here. 5 stars.

This is the only campground in the Mount Charleston area with electricity so we stayed here one night to recharge our batteries and devices. We liked it but there was no host, apparently he was away for a few days. There were a few empty sites, it looked like the campers didn’t show up for their reservation which is a shame since this little campground is so popular and hard to get into. A full time host would have solved that problem and opened up the empty sites if there were no shows. Our site backed up to the busy road so it was a bit noisy. Beautiful scenery. Bring everything you need. There are no amenities on the mountain. No gas, no ice, no stores, nothing. FYI Kyle Canyon campground next door is open to camping now. It was previously closed due to flash flood concerns and turned into a picnic area. Now there are a few nice campsites available. No reservations.

Newly renovated campground with new concrete pads, retaining walls and asphalt driveways. No water, no showers, no RV dump. Vault toilets. During the week it is especially peaceful here. Very popular on weekends, The signage says no trailers over 25 ft and they mean it, There are some tight switchbacks to get up to the hilltop and many sites have short driveways. Big rigs would not like it here. We have a small trailer and we would probably fit into about half the sites. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit and tent pad. Very nice.

Reservations must be made well in advance for this campground. We stayed here for a couple of nights then moved on to Canyon campground. There is no “Madison Village” with shops and restaurants so it’s a little quieter here than in the Canyon area. There is a small convenience store with ice and food and T-shirts and a small visitor center in an old ranger cabin. Madison is a great location close to Old Faithful and the geyser basins. Campsites are assigned by management and we fortunate to get a great site on an outer loop.
