Great place to stop at! Our pup needed to stretch his legs after being cooped up in our truck for our trip through Colorado. Didn't realize it was a state park, and you need to pay to enter. $10 got us a day pass plus entry for the dog park. Acreage aplenty for dogs to romp and play. You gotta stay with your pup or you will lose sight of them. Made my other half and I get our steps in, so a win-win all around. Heads up if you have a 5th wheel camper, go when it's not as busy and you may find a place big enough to fit closer to the dog park itself.
We took a trip with this company last Tuesday. There were 7 of us packed into the back of one of their Jeeps. It was a covered vehicle, but the back of it was higher than the driver so you had unobstructed views throughout the ride. We took the "Red Rock West" tour for a more "true" trip. Very bumpy, but super fun all around. Our tour guide was BJ, and he was very knowledgeable and down-to-earth. He made sure to stop to give me the most advantageous views. At one point we were able to get out of the Jeep and check out an abandoned old whiskey maker's hut and BJ made sure to take some shots of our group together with some amazing backdrops. We weren't rushed through our tour either. All in all an awesome experience and we were all bummed when it was over. Highly recommend! (We ended up getting this tour for a deal through Groupon, be sure to check them out on there as well)
FYI, if you are wanting to check out this awesomeness, you will have to pay for a permit. They only let in 20 people per day into the Coyote Buttes area (North and South). And you better plan this WAY in advance, since they are already booked solid through August.
Was super cool seeing this, but did not see a reason to pay $15 for a "closer" look at it.
