I was impressed with Oregon State Park system! The staff were friendly and this site is well cared for and well maintained. The facilities were clean and easy to access. We were a little worried we wouldn't be able to back into our site with out 35' fifth wheel, but we did it! Loved the easy access to the beach and short drive to Newport and surrounding areas. We were only able to stay one night but would have stayed another if there was availability.

This is a place worth exploring. I've been to several volcanic sites and this is by far the easiest one to get around and it's a huge site! The shuttle to the top made it convenient to get up high. And we were there during a heat wave so it was helpful to have a ride up and down the hill. Even if you don't want to walk around the top of the crater, take the shuttle up to enjoy the view and catch the next one back down in 20 minutes.

Wow! Now this is glamping! Very nice campground with pavers and asphalt. The site was level and huge! Very easy to back in with plenty of room for tables, BBQ grill etc. There is grass on both sides and large open areas with grass. The showers and bathrooms were clean. The laundry facility was also clean and well-maintained. They also had a lounge with free coffee and tea, a TV, movies, small library, and games. Pickle ball courts, horseshoes, and tennis were also available. Our site was well shaded. We were in a premium site and it looked like other sites were available without as much shade, pavers, grass, or space. Those might be available at a different price point. We were three for three nights over fourth of July weekend in our 35' fifth wheel.

Crater Lake Resort was absolutely perfect and charming! We enjoyed our three night stay here. We were in our 35' 5th wheel. The staff is friendly and the grounds and facilities are meticulously maintained. I loved the huge grassy area and that it was available for dogs. Although dogs were supposed to be on leash, we, and several others, would play ball with our dogs early in the morning or evening when others weren't using the grass. The resort also had canoes available at no charge for us to enjoy in Fort Creek. The creek is slow moving and not deep in most places. A scenic walking trail around the grounds was pleasant and easy to stroll. The floating bridge and covered bridge added to the charm. This resort is located 25-30 minutes outside of Crater Lake National Park which made it easy for us to drive up for sunrise and take in some early hikes. I highly recommend Crater Lake Resort. It is perfect for families, dogs, and everyone of any age. They also had nice tent sites, cabins, and yurts in addition to RV spaces.

After we were "forced" away from our intended campground due to a small forest fire we were fortunate to find availability at Melita's Highway 97 RV Park. We had to have some repairs done on our truck and ended up staying longer than we intended; instead of two days we were there for 10. We were there in our 35' 5th wheel. The site was spacious and offered electricity and water. The dump station was available at no charge. The bathrooms were closed due to the pandemic (although we were traveling through in June 2021). There's quite a bit of highway noise but for the convenience and affordability ($40/night) it was worth it. The staff seemed somewhat unsure of what they were doing but all in all, this location worked out great for us. The nearby town of Chiloquin offered basic services like laundry, gas, and groceries.

Mariner's Resort was the perfect spot for us to spend the night on our way to Oregon. The campground has recently been renovated and was meticulously maintained by the caretaker/manager. The facilities were clean and open for us to enjoy. The campground itself was wooded, quiet, and well-shaded. We were there in our 35' 5th wheel. The lake itself suffered a severe drainage and the area is sort of like a ghost-town. I hope this area can make a comeback and be the thriving destination it once was. But this campground in particular makes the stop worthwhile.

Nice facility with all the usual amenities. I loved that they had a pool. A heat wave was rolling through when we were there so it was nice to be able to jump in the pool in the morning and early afternoon or in the evening. Convenient access to the highway for sightseeing or driving into Reno.
