If you're into design and architecture you'll likely find this place interesting, but I've never really understood what it's meant to be. Other than maybe a glorified, life-size vending machine for designer water?

I've never stayed here but I've been loads of times to eat at the two restaurants in the lobby and for drinks on the rooftop as well. It's one of my favorite places in downtown Mexico City, perfect for relaxing afternoon drinks after a day of museum visiting in the Centro Histórico. The hotel is set up as an upscale hostel of sorts, not sure on pricing but the bar and rooftop is really nice. You can order food up to the roof as well if you aren't keen on the restaurants in the lobby or if there's too long a wait.

While architecturally stunning, these are literally little glass boxes sitting in the middle of a desert. If you enjoy baking yourself to a crisp, then you'll enjoy the hotel. If not, I'd seek alternative accommodations and go enjoy the Endemico with a few cocktails instead.

Restaurante Montés is a great place to have a long, lingering lunch outside. It definitely has a trendy, hipster vibe but the food is good and the service very attentive. Their menu is split up into "from the sea," "from the air," and "from the earth" which is kind of cool. Their ceviche is pretty good and I'd highly recommend their citrus salad which is really good. They also host Sunday brunches every once in a while that are pretty good.

Modern hotel with spectacular views and unique architecture. Definitely one of the trendiest hotels in the area. There's an amazing pool with a stunning view of the Sea of Cortez and more than anything else, refreshingly different. Even if you don't stay here, they have a terrific Sunday brunch.

Cool vibe during the week if you want that pub feel. Great selection of whisky and scotch which you might not find elsewhere, but on the weekends is more of a regular clubby bar type deal that isn't so appealing.

Famous chef, Enrique Olvera, will be introducing his own rooftop cocktail bar at what's shaping up to be one of the most stunning hotels in Playa del Carmen. Definitely worth a visit!

The space is amazing, food seems good but really not worth what you're paying. You can have a much better meal elsewhere (there's a great Asian place next door).

Great little bistro in Santa Fe. This hidden gem and has huge outdoor area with fireplace and fire pits overlooking a park. The service is quite good and food varied. This French-Mex fusion. Great place for Happy Hour in the outdoor area as they have plenty of drinks, including big Champagne selection.

Awesome little coffee shop and AMAZING bakery in Mexico City. There's a neat little patio on the side as well. It's pretty small and quiet so if you're with a large group you may not fit. The sandwiches are delicious too!
