We showed up on Friday night with no reservations. The host, Bob, was very gracious and found us a nice site.
We were close to the highway, but traffic dies down at night and didn't bother us.
Campground is very clean and easy to access for any rig.
There was a bathhouse but we did not use it.
Dump station and fresh water are available.

Clean dump station and free water. Could be a little tight for larger rigs.

We have a large 4x4 truck and a 30 for fifth wheel. We are not afraid to go off road.
The grade in to the area is 12% up and 13% down. Not for the faint of heart.
That being said, we never found an area to camp. The Fish Creek State Park states "day use only" no camping.
The cell service was not existent on Verizon and T-mobile.
Summed up, this place is a waste of time.
I only gave one star because we could not find any where to camp.

We needed some where to stop for the night after driving 6 hours and this fit the bill perfectly. It's a nice little family park. Clean and we'll taken care of. All of the permanent residence sites we're clean and tidy.
The price is right for full hookups. Not a resort, but a nice place.
I took away a star for the highway noise, but it really didn't bother us.
We have all three cell providers and they were all fast enough to work on my laptop and stream You Tube.

Nice little county park. Easy access for any size/type rig.

As of 5/15/20, due to Covid-19, there is no electric or water. Currently
no charge for overnight stays.

There are restrooms, but we did not use them.

There were 7 'developed' sites, 30 amp/120. Could probably fit up to a
40 foot rig, hanging off the back of the pad. $12.00 per night
The 'Undeveloped' sites were just pull up along the curb in the wide areas.

7 day maximum stay, with 14 days out.

We stayed in site #2. It was right next to a large warren of
Yellow-Bellied Marmots, which sounds cool, but it stunk. There was poo
everywhere. Otherwise a nice overnight stay

The signs on the road to enter say "Rest Area".

Traffic on the highway was not very loud. You could hear it, but it didn't bother us.
Pretty, quiet area.

Was kind of hard to find because it's actually IN the pictured tower. Just look for the tower and you found it.
Water is available for flushing, but not posted if it is potable.

I would give zero stars if I could.
This park recently changed to a Jellystone park. Gives Jellystone parks a bad name.
The entrance has a word roundabout, which wouldn't be an issue, but it immediately goes left, then right, then left. Difficult to maneuver with a trailer.
The woman in the office was stressed, over worked and rude.
Ok, got past that and drove to our site #65. This site would have been fine, but there was someone already camped in it.
Called the office, she said they had another site #67. Checked that one out. It was full of all the electrical and sewer for the row. Literally right behind our trailer. Almost touching.
Called again. She said they didn't have any other sites.
Asked for a refund, which she said no problem. Have yet to receive our money back.
The campground is old worn out and very crowded. It's on a hill and none of the sites are level.
It is very close to the busy highway and we assume very noisy
Would not recommend this park to any one.
I gave 4 stars for location because, you know, Dollywood...

We left and found a very nice RV park 2 miles away, Mill Creek Resort.

The campground is mostly for tents, but we were able to cram our 30' fifth wheel into site B7. The sites are parallel to the road.
That being said, go here!!
This is a gem of a park in Northeast California. Lava Beds National Monument is an amazing place. On the surface it's pretty desolate, not much to look at. But look deeper and there are the most amazing Lava tube caves! I will leave the history and geology for you to explore, but it's a pretty awesome place to visit.
We had a blast spelunking in the caves. Day one we did four amazing caves, Sentinel, Sunshine, Golden Dome, and Mushpot. The caves are refreshingly cold inside🥶. Turn off your flash light and it is beyond pitch black 😳😳 you can borrow flashlights at the visitor center for no charge. I highly recommend this since they are better than anything we had.

Everything here is new. From the pool to the fire pits. Very nice park. The mini golf was fun. Clean, new laundry rooms for only 2 bucks.
Close to Hershey with lots of restaurants and things to do.
It is close to the highway, so there is some nose.
