Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on June 10, 2020There is one campground at the end of the road, Big Pine (listed elsewhere on Campendium) but along the road there are a couple of dispersed areas. There are signs that indicate Fish Creek State Park and that during the summer months a small fee will be charged. One gorgeous spot near the river and nicely shaded against the summer heat. We always stop for at least one night on our east/west travels. No water or hook-ups of any kind. Access via a well maintained dirt road, about four miles from the highway.

I don't know where I slept last night but it wasn't at the fish creek state park. I followed the coordinates and it said I was there. I parked at a crossroads because there was only a couple hours left of daylight.

We have a large 4x4 truck and a 30 for fifth wheel. We are not afraid to go off road.
The grade in to the area is 12% up and 13% down. Not for the faint of heart.
That being said, we never found an area to camp. The Fish Creek State Park states "day use only" no camping.
The cell service was not existent on Verizon and T-mobile.
Summed up, this place is a waste of time.
I only gave one star because we could not find any where to camp.
