The Fire Service road was easy to find. We drove to the GPS Coordinates. The dirt road was 16-18 feet wide and maintained with a fenced gravel operation on the left for about half mile. Then the road turns and we followed it around the corner. We chose the second site which is about where the GPS will take you. There are four very large sites in total. Pretty level ground with a Several fire pits. Easy to turn around. Nice wide clearing. If it has recently rained the camping area could be soft. Would not recommend it if there has been a couple of days of rain. We walked down the road about half mile past where we were camped and there are no more open areas for camping and the road narrows, so you don’t want to go past the open areas where the GPS takes you. We did a nice hike behind us down a hill to a river that was running nicely. Did some gold panning for fun. Took a little dip in the ice cold water. Would camp here again in dry weather.

Drove further than we planned today and got into Whitehorse with no reservations. The other review is accurate. The pull throughs are pretty stacked together but the management is nice and it has full services and there is road noise but we were glad to have a place with late notice. If you want peaceful surroundings call before 10:00 and ask for the hill area. We walked it and it is really really nice. Secluded. For an overnight this is just fine. Site was level. You get some free internet and you can buy more.

Just outside Whitehorse. Nice campground. Clean. Firewood provided. Wouldn’t want to bring in a large rig though. Tight corners. We are in a truck camper and it was perfect.

We stayed for one night because we read that the internet was great. And the internet was great! I had work to do and so I emailed the owner prior to arriving and he moved our site to 18 so we would be closest to the satellite antenna. He came by, made sure we were fine, and told us anything we needed just text him. I imagine he is this nice with all his campers. There are no showers, the bathroom is a clean Port-a-potty nearby, nice gravel parking pads, flat, and very little adjustment on the camper. We go back and forth to Alaska yearly and will be sure to add this to our list of must-stays.

There is a very low power line that drops just after the cattle guard on Rondeau road and if you have a large rig you will not make it under the line. We had to turn around because our rig would not make it under the wire.

Their wifi is a hotspot, no signal whatsoever. Fortunately I had two bars on my phone. overall site wasn't bad. They have some nice trees which provided shade. People were nice. Showers are located at the very front of the campground, so get a site get it close to the front or walk for 1/4 mile.

First, if it has rained you probably don't want to drive the couple miles in as the road is unpaved and has some pretty deep dips that would fill with water. However, if its dry, pass up the other BLM open camping on this road and head for this quaint, peaceful, clean and beautiful campground surrounded on sides by rocks jutting up from the ground on three sides. There is even a place for kids to play! Lots of hiking paths up into the rocks and plenty of bouldering opportunities. Lots of bathrooms located throughout and covered picnic tables. We had a great night and would stay again if we are ever this way. No internet signal on Verizon, so we read books for the first time on our trip!

Important: We were coming up 69 and google took us down Cattle Drive road which is a dirt road. There is a highway overpass about 4 miles in the is not possible to go under. We found out the hard way. So do not use cattle drive road to access the campground. Use the exit off the highway.
