If you like remote and not used by other RVers, this spot is for you.
PROs:
* 50A electric and water at sites in the A loop;
* 3 sites on Arkansas River in C loop had 30A electric but lack of shade for summer camping;
* Large shade trees at most sites in A loop and level.

CONs:
* No personnel for check in and only saw a 'COE' park truck once;
* Very remote and no RVers, fishermen or boaters;
* no dumpsters for refuse but did find one garage can by the showers, filled with building debrie and beer bottles;
* the shower facility was being worked on during the two days (roofing?) so didn't feel comfortable using facilities;
* no biking or walking trails;
* we use over the air antennae and there was no channels.

We stayed from 9/30/19 - 10/5/19 and we have nothing to note as a con for this State Park. We loved our large site for our large rig, plenty of elbow room in the loop we were in (loop 2).
* easy access from I75;
* wonderful showers as they were clean and plenty of hot water;
* the staff were super friendly;
* washer and driers available;
* plenty of biking and walking paths available;
* We loved exploring the 'on site' Stephen Foster museum, gift shops and the Carillon Tower;
* good connectivity.

We enjoyed this campground and area so much that instead of staying the 'planned' 2 nights, we stayed another 4 nights!

PROs:
* The cost was $2.50 a night with our senior National pass. But, there is no electric, water or dump;
* There are clean bathrooms and trash receptacles;
* The camp hosts were wonderful and friendly;
* There are so many hiking trails right from the campground and the trails are very well maintained (KUDOs to the volunteer group that manages the maintenance!);
* The tiny, tiny town of Datil has a fabulous restaurant, with home made pies!
* The VLA (Very Large Array) was still closed (lack of staffing) but we were able to get 'close enough' to take photos;
* Super cute small town to the east of the campground called Magdalena, we found a great coffee shop!

CONs:
* You are out in the middle of no-where but having said that, the terrain is beautiful;
* Lots of large ant hills in the area, including the campground so you may need powder to prevent them sharing your trailer;
* People do run generators.

We did 2 nights in Loop D, which is out in the open and no trees. This works well for our solar setup! We then spent our 3rd night in Loop B, more trees and pretty site (site 34);

PROs:
* The views and environment is what you pay for here - absolutely stunning! Deer wandering through the campsites was fabulous;
* Bathrooms are super clean as is the rest of this large campground;
* Because this campground is inside Rocky Mtn National Park, no additional fees. We do have the lifetime senior interagency pass which allowed us into the NP initially with no cost.
* Three different trail heads right out of this campground, the one to Sprague Lake was fabulous!
* Rangers super nice and helpful but because of staffing shortages this summer, no presentations at the outside auditorium;
* There is a dump and fresh water site by the ranger station check in so we were able to take care of business on the way out;
* If you need anything, the town Estes Park is approx 10 miles from the campground. But the crowds of people are large and the wait in line to get back into the NP is long;
* We were able to stream using our AT&T unlimited Mobley unit.

CONs:
* This is a large campground with lots of noise from campers and there are generator hours;

Another great Army Corp of Engineers park in Arkansas!
PROs:
* Nice beach area on the lake;
* Most sites on most loops had mature pine trees which really helped during the hot, muggy summer heat;
* our loop had electric (30A) and water and dump available at park entrance;
* Russellville largest town which was approximately 15 miles away;
* could walk the loops or bicycle the loops for exercise, otherwise nothing available in immediate area;
* showers were clean and plenty of hot water.
* staff was WONDERFUL, Marilyn was a volunteer and let us move sites (to a shadier spot) with no problem or issues.

CONs:
* Connectivity was sparse;
* Remote and steep entrance for approximately quarter of a mile but is paved

We used this State Park as a place for down time and this fit the bill. Pros and Cons:
* The State Park personnel were always super friendly and helpful, if needed;
* The showers/bathrooms were very clean and plenty of hot water;
* Had miles of trails to ride the bikes;
* Had plenty of trails for hiking;
* There was lots of historical buildings, museums and tours within the park;
* The south loop was relatively quieter than the other loop but strange set up, two rigs per site on some of the sites. It worked for us so no complaints;
* Town facilities were 10 miles so easy if you needed any thing.
* We could only get Verizon to work early in the morning for us to stay connected.

This park is part of the ND Bureau of Reclamation. The fee per night was $27 but with senior pass, we paid $12.50 for full hookups.
PROs:
* The CG is approximately 30 miles from Jamestown, ND;
* The check in was okay for this older marine/dam campground along the James River dam;
* Has playgrounds for kiddos if applicable and large beach area to the water.

CONs:
* older campground and the sites are close together and not level - okay for a one night stay;
* we were able to back our 40+ plus rig into a site but I would recommend smaller rigs for this campground. There are a couple of sites you will be okay if you are large but not recommending;
* very poor connectivity, the CG is down low to the river so poor line of sight for anything;
* only two over the air TV stations.

We used this campground in order to restock groceries, laundry, refill our propane and enjoy a brewery. This campground fit our needs and our biggest cudos goes to the staff that runs this operation - SUPER nice folks!
PROS: 1) easy off the main road and easy pull in sites; 2) the facility is very clean; 3) short drive into Montrose; 4) they have propane so staff picked up our tank, filled it and returned to us at our site!
CONS: Can't name any except the campground is right on Hwy 550 but even then, very quiet at night.

This campground is painless to navigate. The cost was $25 with $5 on line reservation fee. It was easy to get to from I40 and the campground is paved in a figure 8 shape. All sites are paved but not all the pull-throughs and there are non-electric, 30A or 50A sites, with drinkable water. The dump is on the way out of the park, along with the trash disposal.

Campground has bathrooms and showers and looked clean and was reported to have hot water (we didn't use them).

There are no lights at the campground other than by the bathrooms which makes for nice night sky viewing. You can see I-40 from the campground in the distance but could not hear it.

The ranger station had nice exhibits about the ruins. The rangers were very friendly and gave us information about Winslow activities and Winslow is close enough for supplies. Nice proximity to Petrified Forest National Park.

This is a good spot to stay to access activities in the area. We went to La Posado Hotel, Homolovi 1, 2, 3 and 4 Archaeological Site ruins and drove to Petrified Forest National Park and lots of local Winslow, AZ Route 66 sites.

PROS
* super easy to access off I40;
* The Park Rangers and Camp Hosts are super nice and welcoming;
* The showers are 'old' but they were clean and plenty of hot water;
* The sites are fairly spread out with picnic table, charcoal grills and at least one shade tree per site;
* Very quiet at night!
* Can walk and/or ride bicycle to Homolovi Archaeological Site 1 and 2 from the campground;
* Visitor Center was nice and several trail heads originate from VC;
* the town of Winslow only 4-6 miles from the campground. Has Walmart and lots of other stores/services.

CONS
* the roads need some TCL, cracks up to 1/2 wide made the bicycling 'interesting';
* Verizon had 4 bars but the download and upload speeds were not good. AT&T had 3 bars but the download and upload speeds were good.
