This was a nice campground and while we were there through the Fourth of July celebration, it was quiet and peaceful!

PROs:
* Sites in both loops were spaced away from each other for some privacy;
* Sites of different sizes with maybe 1/2 that were level;
* Lots of vault toilets around the loops and a large dumpster for trash deposal at the entrance;
* At our site, we had enough sun during the day for our solar panels;
* No camp host while we were there so no generator noise as noted in other reveiws;
* Cool short hike from campground and beautiful meadows to walk and enjoy;
* Close to Steamboat Springs (10-12 miles);
* Had good Verizon coverage for our unlimited data jetpack;
* $5 a night was due to my lifetime senior national part pass.

CONs:
* The only thing we can note is that the campground is on US14 so road noise is noticable during the day but it decreased at night.

We ended up selecting a wonderfully shaded site right on Shadow Lake which afforded us fabulous views, no matter which direction you looked. The only down side would be the scourging heat wave of mid ninties and high humidity forced indoor activities in the afternoon. The loops emptied out by Monday so we pretty much had the park to ourselves.
PROs:
* Mature tall pines afforded shadee 95% of the day;
* Full hookups and somewhat level site. The site did have over a foot drop off to get to the picnic table and chairs by the lake;
* Sites are spaced apart from each other for the most part, definitely a plus;
* With all the infrastructure and loops, there was plenty of biking we did on the park roads and beautiful riding with all the pines;
* There are at least 3 different hiking trails here in the park;
* Beach area for swimming was nice and sandy;
* The showers were older and showed their age but clean and hot water;
* Connectivity was good, we did get 4 over the air channels that afforded us nightly news and access to YouTube.

CONs:
* ANTS, I wish the check in person would have warned us so that we could have taken preventative action before the invasion. Once we took measures, then all was well;
* The roads within the SP are somewhat rough and in need of repair and significant drop offs where the sand has washed away from the asphault over the years;
* Not all sites are level.
*

Another nice State Park in Texas!
PROs:
* In the 300 loop, the sites were well spaced from each other and had wonderful views of the lake and desert. Our site was level;
* full hook ups and lots of trash bins available;
* covered picnic table and fire ring available;
* With all the loops and boat launch areas, we had plenty of area to ride the bikes in or hike the trails;
* Staff was super helpful at check in, gave us lots of information about the park as well as Laredo.

CONs:
* Getting into this park is TRICKY, be sure to call and get directions, depending on which direction you are coming from.

If you like remote and not used by other RVers, this spot is for you.
PROs:
* 50A electric and water at sites in the A loop;
* 3 sites on Arkansas River in C loop had 30A electric but lack of shade for summer camping;
* Large shade trees at most sites in A loop and level.

CONs:
* No personnel for check in and only saw a 'COE' park truck once;
* Very remote and no RVers, fishermen or boaters;
* no dumpsters for refuse but did find one garage can by the showers, filled with building debrie and beer bottles;
* the shower facility was being worked on during the two days (roofing?) so didn't feel comfortable using facilities;
* no biking or walking trails;
* we use over the air antennae and there was no channels.

This Army Corp of Engineer park was close to Montgomery and Plattville. There are two loops (Antioch and Catoma) and Catoma loop is better as it is renovated with concrete pads and sewer (sites 1-75). We stayed in Antioch and wouldn't stay in that loop again.
PROs
* staff friendly enough and do see them around;
* can bike or walk the loops for exercise;
* our site 116 was in tall pines and trees which helped with shade since the day temperatures were in the high 90s;
* if you like dark, Antioch loop has no lights except at the shower house;

CONs
* the roads within the loop are very poor, pot holes and narrow but we went slow and easy with our 40' class A and did fine;
* sites are gravel, very few of them are level and we noted some of them were washed out;
* showers are in poor condition but are clean and have hot water;
* laundry facility was okay, 2 washers and 1 dryer that worked and the best is how cost effective, $1 per wash and $1 per dry / load;
* smelly in the area, almost border lined 'sewage' smelling. No dumps at the sites so would assume it was coming from the River;
* very buggy this time of year.

This park was fabulous, it has set the bar high for future COEs! In fact, we usually will list PROs and CONs for the reviews but in this case, no negatives come to mind!
* Three sets of hosts and all of them are super, Char and Gary were in the entrance booth when we came in and their enthusiasm was contagious!
* Site was super long, level and overlooked the water, somehow we landed with the best site in the loops. Oodles of sites big rig friendly;
* Hiking trails, birding was good and plenty of area to bike as well;
* Connectivity was ok for over the air antennae (TV) and connectivity was good for internet;
* Went to larger town of Meridian and did a tour at the Soule Machine Museum, well worth the trip (60 miles) and money;
* Showers were super clear and plenty of hot water and used the one washer/dryer (this room was again very clean) with reading books available in same room;
* Take precautions for ants and we were told at check in so kudos for the heads up!
* Quiet at night.

This was a wonderful stay by Abiquiu Lake. The views were exceptional, especially at sunset. There were days and days of activities in the area and the town of Espanola was approximately 28 miles away for any needs you may have.
The camphosts (2 sets) were so friendly and helpful and there were two evenings that the Rangers arranged presentations at sunset.
The showers were okay, the shower heads dribbled out water but at least it was hot.
We had electric and water at our site with the dump in a different loop.
It was super quiet after 10 pm so we enjoyed sitting out, looking at the stars.

We stayed mid November for 3 days (Magnolia 1 loop) in hopes of sighting the manatees coming into the warmer fresh water and we were not disappointed! Was able to view 10-11 manatees because of the cold snap that rolled through!

PROs
* nice helpful staff;
* good hiking trails right in the park;
* okay biking the loops or can also go out on the walking trails;
* nice dark nights;
* fabulous walking boardwalks to view the fresh water springs, all the way down to where it meets the Suwannnee River;
* nice cafe with delicious BBQ!
* close to the town of Chiefland which has everything you need;
* full hookups was very cost effective if you are a Florida resident!
* didn't check out the shower facilities but know that they are available in each loop.

CONs
* in the interior roads, the trees need to be trimmed back, if you are in a tall rig, you are going to get branch rub as you go to your site;
* LARGE pot holes on the interior roads so go slow;
* absolutely NO connectivity, either internet or over the air TV.

We used this State Park as a place for down time and this fit the bill. Pros and Cons:
* The State Park personnel were always super friendly and helpful, if needed;
* The showers/bathrooms were very clean and plenty of hot water;
* Had miles of trails to ride the bikes;
* Had plenty of trails for hiking;
* There was lots of historical buildings, museums and tours within the park;
* The south loop was relatively quieter than the other loop but strange set up, two rigs per site on some of the sites. It worked for us so no complaints;
* Town facilities were 10 miles so easy if you needed any thing.
* We could only get Verizon to work early in the morning for us to stay connected.

The park was easy to find, easy check in with knowledgable state staff and both loops had many sites that were overall level, well spaced from each other and situated around a 375 acre lake. Picnic shelters, swimming beach and fishing docks abundant.
PROs:
* The level site included two large oaks that provided good shade during the high heat temperatures;
* Quiet park at night;
* Playgrounds, fishing docks and the lake provided recreation for boaters and fishing;
* EXCELLENT hiking trails are part of this park's appeal;
* lots of area to bike an abundance of wildlife and plantlife;
* Didn't use the laundry facilities but the room was clean and numerous machines.
* Closest town was approximately 5 miles (Adel).

CONs:
* the showers were older and lacking good privacy. However, they were clean.
