I don’t recommend this spot for RV or trailer camping. The dirt road in had a few large washes that caused us to hit our rear stabilizer jack going in. We also had a few friends get stuck coming in and going out in the wash to camp. If you are looking to stay here, I would scout the road in first to see if you will have clearance. We only saw one other trailer camping the whole time we were there. The rest of the traffic was day users off-roading or hunting. We had a great spot and it was extremely quiet at night. There are a lot of great trails here. It is AZ State Trust land so you will need a permit to access the area. We had ok Verizon cell coverage. We used a mobile router with external antenna on ATT to be able to work and stream, but even that was not above 5Mbps down and around 1Mbps up. We would love to go back, but with the wash clearance issues we would not camp here again.

We have been coming here for years. It’s a great boondocking spot for OHV use. There are a lot of good riding trails and scenic views. It’s popular for day use, so it can be noisy and dusty off the main roads during the day. During the warmer months there are a lot of flies and there can be a strong manure smell. There is not great cell service for Verizon without using a mobile router or booster, so plan ahead if you need to work. We use a mobile router with ATT and are able to stream and work without issue. We would definitely recommend camping here.

We stayed here through: https://www.cramember.com/
So if you are not a member contact them first for availability and rates. The park is rundown overall, but the location is great for visiting the Julian area. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed in site 200 which was on top of a hill overlooking the main campground. It gave us great views of the mountains and valley. The sites on top of the hill are a bit of a walk to get to the main campground and amenities. I also believe the hill spots are the only ones with full hookups. The rest of the campsites only have water and electric, but the park offers a honey wagon to dump your tanks. The park offered a lot of kid and adult activities throughout the week. The town of Julian was about 15 minutes from the park. There are also numerous hiking and lake trails nearby. The drive into KQ is on a tight single lane road with numerous tight turns, which made for slow driving and caution. We had good cell service on Verizon, averaging 20-30 Mbps down and 1-3 up. We used our mobile router with external antenna on ATT for work, school, streaming, and gaming without issue. We did hear of some guests complaining of spotty service in certain areas of the park. We would definitely stay here again, just for the weather, views, and to visit Julian.

Nice location just outside of Payson. There is a gas station just across the highway if you need anything. Our site backed up to the highway so you could hear loud vehicles, but not see them. Some sites you can see the highway from the fire pit. Site 14 was a bit tight width wise for out 35 foot travel trailer with two slide outs on the driver side, but length was long enough to leave our F250 attached. You felt like you were in a remote forest, so it was a nice break from Phoenix. The camp hosts were knowledgeable of the area and friendly. We did a day trip to the Wagon Wheel Falls. Which is only 15 minutes away, with easy access to the creek. The falls were packed and there was a $10 self pay station at the trail entrance. We were able to work, stream movies, and play Xbox using a mobile router using an ATT sim. Our Verizon cell phones had good bars, but service was below 2 mbps, so assuring congestion in the area on Verizon. We would stay here again but look for a site away from the highway.

This is one of the best run parks we have ever stayed at. When calling to make reservations the staff made sure I knew about all of their current specials and tried to make sure I got the best nightly rate. We showed up before check-in and the were nice enough to help us check-in and get situated at our site even though it was their lunchtime. They gave use pamphlets of the area, local restaurants, a candy pack, and even dog treats. The park is immaculate and they take great pride in keeping it clean and tidy. The staff made sure they were not disturbing me while I sat outside during the day when they were doing maintenance and even took away my trash for me. The site is fairly large, with a great share tree, as most of the spots are. The dog run is well kept, along with the recreation area, and laundry room. We were able to work remote, stream video, game on Xbox using a mobile router on an ATT mobile sim getting over 20mbps minimum. Our cellphones using Verizon were getting speeds of under 2mbps. The park Wi-Fi using Tengo service stated service of 5mbs down and 2mbps up, but I was getting just over 2 down standing next to the WiFi repeater. The creek access is a nice added bonus, but the open space is small to access the water. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the park.

We really enjoyed the park and would love to come back. The views are amazing from all around you. The interstate is a mile East of the park, so it can be a bit loud and there are trains constantly running as well. But despite that it’s still a great place to camp. There is no water fill up or hook ups at the park and looks like it’s a permanent thing so plan ahead. There are only electric hookups at the RV sites but there is a dump station with two dumps. They also have bathrooms at the campsites. We had a great cell service with ATT and Verizon and were able to stream and work.

This is a membership resort through https://www.coloradoriveradventures.com/
So if you are not a member, call ahead to check availability and cost. We have been staying here for years and always have a great time. This is a great vacation spot if you want to visit Lake Havasu, Lake Havasu city, or Parker since it’s just about between Parker and Lake Havasu City. The resort is right on the lake so you can launch watercraft or hang out on their sand beach. They also have a nice pool and hot tub. The RV spots are very tight and not very well maintained. They also have mobile homes and trailers for rent. The summer weekends are usually packed with guests and it’s usually pretty loud throughout the night. They have a good restaurant, bars, and small convenience store with marina gas station. The cell phone signal is almost non-exist and the free WiFi is near unusable. We had one bar on Verizon and were lucky to get text messages. I also had an external antenna and mobile router using ATT which had four bars of signal. The ATT service worked during downtimes to stream video, but the network was congested over the weekend. So I would not plan to have any cell service especially for working remote.

We stayed here after boondocking near Dogtown lake. It’s a nice park and friendly service. They had a little store with basic amenities and treats. Our space was large enough to fit our 32 foot trailer, F250, F150, and our 16 foot utility. Park was fairly quite, with the occasional sxs leaving. The location is perfect to visit Williams, nearby lakes, and Bearizona. We worked here remotely using our cellphones as hotspots and mifi using Verizon without issue. The park Wi-Fi was spotty during peak times and ok to surf the web off-peak. We would stay here again next time we are in Williams.
