Decent size sites. Quiet. Large open space. Camped at Riverside Campground on the banks of the Rio Grande. Pad was gravel with a slight incline. Covered picnic tables. Lots of birds. Showers and toilet closed due to covid.

Seems to be recently renovated with electric and water, which is why it is no longer free. Currently unpotable water, but probably because it is new and still being tested. Fairly level grass pads, picnic tables and fire rings. Absolutely no shade. Broadside to the sun morning and evening so time of year will make a difference. You are right on the lake and very close to a swimming beach. Nice for kayaking. There is a hiking and biking trail that begins here in the park. Super quiet.

There was only one park attendant at the check-in point. We sat at the gate for a while and eventually parked and went inside to check-in. More that 60% of this park have permanent guests. The RVs have permanent decks or steps added and they even have portable outdoor storage buildings. It looks like a trailer park. We are in a 22 ft camper van. Our original site needed a 100 ft electric cord and water hose to hook up and those hook ups were on a pedestal with 2 other units, which is ok, except for us, it made us feel we were sitting within the other people's space. The pad was grass and was kind of difficult to discern where you're supposed to set up. The park facilities are clean, and the grounds around the ranger-station are beautiful. The lake looked nice and if you are boating you may have a completely different perspective. We moved to a sites across the highway. It is very peaceful on this side, but we are much further away from the bathrooms and showers.

Although these paved sites are close together, they are fairly level. Grass between each unit. Tables at all sites. Pull thru sites have grills. All sites have full hookups. The facilities are new and kept very clean. There is a community firepit and grill area. We did laundry and took nice hot showers. We were there during Crooked Creek Rodeo, so we walked over and enjoyed the rodeo. The people were very friendly. The community was very hospitable.

Camping in the forest while living on the beach! All the sites are very tight. Our rig is 21' and the bikes add 2 more. When booking make sure you pay attention to the particulars for the site you book. There is no grass. Some site are more level than others. We were always protected by the trees. Most times our site cooler than others. We rarely had the warmth of the sun. The humidity inside and outside the rig was always over 75%. Our visit was the last week of June. We had great T-mobile 5g coverage on the beach and also in the more southern sites closer towards the lodge. Using the booster in our rig, we had a slow 4G, 4 bar connection. We could text, check email and catch up on the news. Generators are permitted except during quiet hours (10 pm to 7 am).

Camphosts we're super nice. They would bring camp wood to you. I'm glad we had electric because we had no shad except from our own camper. The camp sites were fairly level. The site has pay showers but you cannot adjust the water temperature. For me, the water was too hot to stand under. The dump station appears to be new. You can pull in from either direction allowing two people at one time. We were able to stream a movie with Verizon and a booster inside the van. We had 5 bars T-Mobile 5g at the top visitor center and occasionally at the camp. We mostly had slow at&t 4g roaming when not using the booster. If you're a bicyclist, they have some great tent spots. The facilities for bikers looks new. Picnic tables have vices that allow you to work on your bike. We didn't get reservations for the caverns but they looked interesting.

This is great little park. But needed mowed. Many of the sites with partial hookups cannot see the water. They've allowed the trees and vegitatation to block the view. They could clean out the under growth and still have the feeling of it being natrual.
The bathrooms are clean and the RV sites are level and easy to access. Site 17 has no shade from 9 am until 7:30 pm in the summer. Great swimming area. Kayaks, coanoes and rafts have a lot of room to be enjoyed.

Slightly sloped paved pad. Wifi was weak. Cell coverage a bit spotty. That's the bad. Everything else was A+++++. Park is gorgeous, hiking trails were great. Camp host was engaging. Facilities were clean and in working order. People were friendly. Overall a great experience. Would definitely stay again, and again, and again.

This is a nice campground. The campsites were mostly level and easy to access. The camp has showers and flushing toilets. There was a tornado warning while we were there. The local fire department came through the camp and told us to take shelter in the bathhouse. There are trains coming through at all hours and the tracks are close to the campground. We had good phone/wi-fi coverage with T-Mobile.
Not worth the 5 mile drive to get there after leaving Big Bend. People now live all around the ruins.
