I can't believe that no one has written a review on this place yet. If you are looking for a place to stay in the area make sure you give North Landing Beach a try. The amenities are amazing and will not disappoint. Each RV spot has electric, sewer, cable, water, and wifi. You can choose spaces on the beach, under shade trees, and even on a canal! Those spots are really special and offer some unique outside living areas. There are even cabins you can rent, so if you don't have an RV and are transiting the area in a car or looking for a quiet vacation spot, you can still enjoy this great place.
I tend to judge places on the bathroom and shower areas and NBL goes above and beyond. There are no group showers in dingy concrete buildings. Each bathroom area has its own door, a large shower with real shower curtains, a sink, and of course a toilet. Think of a larger bathroom you would find inside any house. Each is nicely appointed, has nice tile, and is very clean.
There is a large pool with hot tub, individual sports courts, jumpy houses for the kiddos, a dog park, plenty of river from beach, a pizza and ice cream parlor, small general store with everything from milk, beer, camping supplies, and t shirts, a dump site, propane service, and the park areas is gated too!. The entire property is dog friendly to include the beach! The only places you can't bring your furry friends is inside the pool area and the food shops. Everywhere else is free game.
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. They also have plenty of activities for both kids and adults alike!
It's about a 4 hour drive to Washington DC and an easy day trip to both OBX, VA Beach, Colonial Williamsburg, and surrounding areas.
Beautiful! Well worth the visit. Give yourself some time to explore. I took the trail from Cedar Falls which is 6 miles round trip... But you can drive to the cave and walk in too.
