beyond how muddy it gets from the rain, it’s a great campground. our entire site was swampy, so tent camping would have been impossible. walking across the old bridge and checking out all of the water falls was a fun adventure. we definitely want to come back during the dry season.

difficult to find a site (no site number assigned). when we were finalizing getting our RV set up on an open site, we were notified that it was already spoken for, even though all sites are first-come, first- served. no fire ring at our site, and the picnic table was dry rotted. it looks like nobody ever takes care of anything. domestic violence occurred late at night with a lot of screaming, threats with guns, and apparent drug use; cops and ambulance responded.
the lake is nice though.

The campsites are quite close together, but it is a lovely campground, especially in the autumn. We loved the creek!

Being able to park on the decking was nice. The fire ring area, however, is not a great set-up on most sites; people end up sitting in the road to have enough room. Site 34's was good though. The turtles at the marina were fun, but the Marina Trail hike there was not. The lake is beautiful and the lookout at the visitors center was awesome. Hot tip: make sure you put in the correct address into your GPS to get there so you don't end up on mostly unpaved, one-way roads on the other side of the lake.
