FIVE STARS WOULD VISIT AGAIN.
I visited this park when I was young. I don’t remember much about that single visit other than a brawl between two bull elephant seals. It was loud and bloody and frightening and amazing and it broke my young head that I could see something so wild so close to the house I lived and slept in.
I look forward to visiting again in the near future.
I grew up down the road and spent a lot of time here and have missed it every day since I moved away. If you’re up for a mediumish hike that passes waterfalls, do the Berry Creek Falls Loop. If you’re up for a long day with a beautiful ending, the Skyline to the Sea Trail will take you all the way to the coast.
Buy a map.
It’s no X-Mansion, but this is one of my favorite buildings in Cincinnati. Worth a visit for the ceiling and Cincinnati diorama alone.
Hands down the best kiddo bookstore in Cincinnati. Lots of events, both regular and otherwise—we met R2-D2 *and* Darth Vader at one of their special events. Be sure to check out their kid-friendly decafé which, despite the name, does serve adult-friendly caffeinated stuff.
You should drop by if you’re around. We have tunnels and M&Ms and beer and an awesome mural.
This is quickly becoming my favorite place in Cincinnati. The staff is fantastic, the food is amazing, and the clientele blows my mind. (During my first visit, a monk—dressed in a brown robe—bellied up to the counter for a soda.)
I like the Big Tucker and the patty melt. If you like burgers, you can’t go wrong with either. If you don’t like burgers, they’ve still got something for you.
This is probably my favorite pizza in Cincinnati, and I’m not just saying that because they’re the only pizzeria that delivers to Roadtrippers HQ. (Even though they’re across the river in northern Kentucky.)
Great sauce, good crust. Try the Cosentino, the Bianca, or the Quattro Formaggi.
I was already a big fan of the Cincinnati Art Museum, but became an even bigger fan when my five-year-old decided he loved Van Gogh after a field trip. It’s a great place to introduce kids to art.
If I had a death wish, I would attempt to fulfill it by eating nothing but their Potato Rags until I collapsed beneath the weight of all the cholesterol.
