Fabulous store in downtown St Albans (not Swanton). Molly was working while I was there and she helped me find the perfect gift for my daughter.
Fabulous gardens and greenhouses. It's easy and lovely to get lost here, and just wander the day away while inhaling the fresh floral scents. Definitely worth battling the traffic!
Nice park! Easy to find. There's no pavement here, so it could get a bit messy, but they have full hook-ups and pretty good rates. $38 for electric & water, pull-through site.
I came in late and left early, so I didn't get a good look at the park itself in the dark. But I took a hot shower and the managers were great to deal with for a late arrival.
Worth the stop! Beautiful place.
We stayed here at the tail-end of the renovation construction project, and we'd like to return after it's finished so we can enjoy the updates. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is great, the bar is great (although the bar is moving soon). I would upload a photo but the front of the hotel is still being worked on. Great place - add it to your Asheville visit!
What a fabulous peek into the 1920s lifestyle of the Vanderbilt family. The tour shows many highlights of Biltmore, but sadly, you have to purchase additional behind-the-scenes tours if you want to see more. We didn't do this, but if I return, I'll do the additional tours next time. The grounds are fabulous, definitely worth hiking through, and Antler Hill Village is worth a short trek around.
This tour did NOT live up to our expectations. The tour guide spoke in a scream-shriek, and most of his jokes revolved around juvenile bathroom humor. There were very few real stories and historical facts--the presentation contained more skits and antics than information about Asheville. Quite disappointing. This was not worth the $20+ tour price.
