Dedicated lanes for RV’s or any vehicle towing a trailer . No DEF in these lanes. RV dump is out of order. Broken pipe. If you wanna stop for awhile ( lunch break, nap time) three is a gravel lot across the street from Flying J and behind the Quality Inn. Good place to walk dogs. There are trash cans there also.

The area where this park is located is probably scary for some. This is mostly utilized for long term stays. This is not a tourist town in my viewpoint but a working class town employing over 4000 in the Beef industry. And numerous of those folks have to live in RV’s. Along with the rv park there is mobile home park with older units. The area where we were camped is a big open piece of ground with grass and gravel lots. And the lots are very generous. 50/30 amp hookups, water and sewer. I’m guessing they have these services year round as all of the water spigot were wrapped in heat tape and insulted already. There was a lot of ground around the park to walk our dogs. The down side of this was that there was a nasty weed whose small seed pods had very sharp and hard spikes. Ow! Both for the dogs and us. Price was $34 for as single night. The staff was friendly but forgot to give me the code to the restrooms . And when I went to check them out and they were locked it was too late as the staff leaves at 6 pm. Overall it was a quiet, level, spot.

The highlight of our over night stay was the street tacos we bought and ate. Cheap, authentic, tasty.

I booked online one day prior and we arrived at hours. Our receipt and site designation, including a map showing us how to pull through the park to get to our site was waiting for us at the office/ store/laundry/ showers.

I love trees in an RV park. If they scare you you won’t like this place. It’s is located in a back water of a lake. Next to an airport but the noise wasn’t oppressive. Small airport.

Used shower. Very clean with hot hot water. Wonderful after a long and stressful drive.

And yes there are s lot of extended stay folks living here. So if that fit some reason bothers you…. We’ll go to KOA.

The pull through sites are close to each other on the hook ups side.

Have stayed here before so we knew the pros and cons. Pros: only campground in Emporia. Bathrooms are clean. Showers are hot. Bath house is warm. Gravel Pulls through are easy to park in. Nice grassy areas for walking dogs. Staff is friendly and efficient.
Cons: only one con and that is the road noise. This park sits between highways US 50 and I-135. Busy busy busy. Also a train comes in sometimes. But if that doesn’t bother you then this is a very nice ma and pa park.

We were traveling with our two dogs and this recreation area was at a perfect spot for a nights stay. This time of year we were the only people in the Maple Campground. The cabin was very clean. The whole campground was spotless. The cabin has 4 beds. One full size with a single bunk over it and another set of single bunk beds. It has electricity, heat and a/c. Two of six outlets have usb ports. We stayed in C9 which faced into a wooded area. A bit more privacy. There is a vault toilet right across from this cabin. It has an outside lighted marker and an inside light. This campground has a shower house but it was closed for the season when we stayed here. This is a much used campground on weekends in the summer. But in November it was our personal playground. The cabin is listed at $55. But like most places there are all the added fees. Nonresidents pay 8 bucks extra. And our dogs cost us another 10 dollar bill. And there is a park entrance fee of $8 daily or $36 for the year. So for our one night stay we came right close to $90. Even so we would definitely stay here again.

Be sure to call the park on a week day during business hours if you are arriving when the office is closed. You need to get the code to open the box where your key will be kept. Also they will make sure you have paid your correct fees. It was a bit confusing online for me, but the park official I talked to was very informative and helpful.

A bit off the beaten path just over the border with Wisconsin. Was here on October 13. The hard wood trees were putting on a colorful show. Mid week and there were about 10 or so other RVs. All the sites in this campground, Hilltop, have electricity. Some have 50 amp . Water is available through out the park at various spigots. Dump station and shower use include with camping fee. Both were well kept and clean. Roads are paved. Sites are mostly flat with gravel. A few of the sites, especially the ones away from the center had slopes to them. But for the most part you could back in and not have to do much or anything to be level.

A few blocks off of the Main Street out this campground at the edge of this little town. It was quiet and comfortable. On any given weekend in the fall it might be busy though as it sits right next to the high school football field. I think it would be fun to watch a game. There are 10 sites. Ask with full hookups. 30 amp at all sites and 50 amps at several of the sites. No showers. A lot of room for walking our dogs. Gravel sites. Back in but not hard.

Very nice county campground. Paved roads paved site for your RV. Off-season, after October 1, $32 for full hook ups plus $10 reservation fee. You have to reserve site online. 90+ sites. Shower available. Shower house very clean. Firewood available. Seven dollars for about two arm loads worth.

A very nice state park. We were on a trip from Montana to Illinois and we’re sleeping in the back of our truck. So we just needed one night here. Wonderful time of the year late October. As people have said the sites are not particularly level. But if you want level go to a KOA. The facilities were very nice paved roads bathroom and shower or clean water was hot. There is a dump station and water available or no power site was six dollars. The sites with power are 12. The fact that we got a camping spot a nice hot shower emptied our garbage For six bucks is pretty good. I would’ve given it five stars but I’m taking one off for myself being confused about reserve spots and walk-in spots and where exactly you were supposed to pull your vehicle in on the non-electric side spots. Probably should actually be 4 1/2 stars we will definitely use this again in our travels.
