We stayed one night on our way through NC. Camp host was very nice and sites seemed level. Some highway noise, but they give you earplugs upon check in (which we didn’t need)!

This campground is a perfect location to explore Lower Falls-a great, pretty easy hike to the falls (and a short drive to Upper Falls)! We were there on the weekend so it was quite crowded. Pretty limited cell service!

Every site at this campground had beautiful lake views! We stayed at site 35 which didn’t have immediate neighbors, but also didn’t have sewer (but many sites did, so worth checking before you book). Agree with other commenters to book in advance (especially for a weekend stay)—we were only able to stay M-Th even in November!

Great location, nice flat sites, owners are fantastic! Beautiful view of Morro Rock, easy walk to Embarcadero and the beach. Laundry facilities are great, including many clotheslines. We will definitely be back!

Level sites, room to walk the dog, water and electric at sites (some sites have dump too), and free! A perfect place to stay for our travels between Austin and Flagstaff! Some road and train noise.

Park is directly on the river with beautiful views and a nice breeze! Nicer and more peaceful than the Lower Falls campground—worth it to drive a bit further to the falls and stay here!

We had a great two week stay here! Spacious sites, great employees, and good laundry facilities. Creek running through the property meant that we heard ducks and frogs, lovely for an in-town park! Close to everything in town.

My husband is from Kalamazoo and we knew we were going to spend most of the summer here. We are so glad we found Markin Glen—it’s the best campground we’ve stayed in during the year we’ve been full timing! There’s a lake for swimming/fishing, walking trails, mountain biking trails, and lots of wildflowers. There is usually 1-2 trains/day (tracks right next to the park), but otherwise it’s so quiet! All FHU sites, concrete, level, with a firepit and picnic table. Have used the facilities a couple times and they’re always clean and dry. Only drawback for us is that there’s a 14-day stay limit (have to leave for 48 hours then can return), otherwise we would have stayed all summer!

We stayed one night during our cross country drive. Was still cold in late April so glad we had full hookups! Check in was easy and received a discount for paying cash. Sites were level and a mix of grass and gravel. Didn’t use any of the facilities, but did see some kids on the play set there. Had good Mexican food across the street (El Paso), which was welcome after a long day! If we’re passing through this area again we will definitely stay here.

We stayed for a few weeks while in Sacramento. The hosts were great, it’s so close to a great biking/walking trail, with flat level sites. It was not crowded (COVID and winter season), but imagine the sites would be tight during busy season. Out of all of the options (we looked at most), this one was the best in the area!
