Got a late departure from Boise to California. It would have been around 9:00pm arriving in Winnemucca so I decided to stay here after reading some reviews. Extra bonus is it’s free. I thought I’d be picking up trash but those before me also respect this area so it was clean when I arrived and left. Also we’re on Boost Mobile, (T-Mobile plan), with our MOFI-5500 cellular router. Excellent data speeds out here in the middle of nowhere, 82mbs download 15.2 mbs upload!

We came on a Tuesday afternoon to see the sunset. We made clam chowder with sourdough bread and enjoyed some wine while taking in the incredible view. Dress warm as it’s almost always windy. The fog came in later super thick too. Next morning we walked across the Golden Gate. Highly recommend. Hint don’t park for the night where the lookout is unless you want to hear people and cars all night. If you find a spot on the East side it will be a little quieter from the bridge traffic noise. We actually slept very well even though there is a lot of noise. Just before we turned in for the night I counted 7 vehicles staying the night. No problems for us. The California Highway Patrol and the Golden Gate Bridge Patrol cars drive through often.

This is a good RV wash. You need to get a card and insert for the wash. This is all available through the machines. The dump station is right there too. Although rather pricey at $20. Not too many choices in Modesto. By comparison Flying J in Ripon, CA is only $7.50, (Good Sam members).

We wish we’d had more time for a longer stay. As it was we were on our way to the Dakotas. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Walked around the park which was only about 40% occupied when we stayed. The guests that we interacted with seemed friendly.
We saw a bald Eagle and deer. Very beautiful and peaceful. Good place to be if you want to fish.
We were here 3 days before the Yellowstone flooding happened. Our good fortune as some of our roads out towards Livingston MT I believe were affected and damaged.

We came here during the California wildfires September 2020. We were smothering in smoke back in the Central Valley and came here for some fresh sea air. Sea Lions barking most of the night along with the buoy bells. Lulled us into a restful slumber. We rode our bicycles around the boat yards, beach, and of course Phil’s Fish House, (different than Phil’s snack shack). Also the Whole Enchilada Mexican Restaurant is fun as are the couple of unique shops to discover unusual items.
We will go back. The staff was friendly and even asked if we needed bicycle locks. The whole park seemed friendly.

I arrived after a 458 mile day heading north from California. I was impressed. The RV park is on the other side of the freeway from the casino tucked away from the road noise. Everything is well maintained, paved roads, and concrete level pads. I’d suggest reservations as it appeared busy. Lots of families, but quite. The truck overnight parking is down the hill from where my site was. Sometimes you’d hear a truck or 2 pull in or leave but not very noisy at all.
I should have taken photos of the park, but I was overwhelmed by the eagle sculpture in front of the casino. Everything is nice and green here.
I have my own cellular router with a Verizon SIM card, but the signal was very weak as the RV park is tucked away from the freeway. The free RV park WIFI is very strong and fast.

Ditto on what everyone else said. The owners/hosts are totally into this RV park. Friendly clean and a jewel. While it’s close to Interstate 80 the noise settles down at night. Very peaceful and siren. Has a creek on one side with several setting beaches. Met several RVers who were interesting and friendly.
Nancy, the owner:hostess had set up a ladybug discovery tour around the park. They have a small veterans museum that’s cute also. Only advice is get your provisions in Wells before arriving.

I stayed here for a golf tournament in the middle of April 2021. The location is about 500 yds from the golf course. The website leads you to believe it’s first come first serve however if on the website select Lifestyle/Amenities/Camping you can make reservations and pay for your stay.
My site was #29 which was not level, (>8” to level). 27 & 29 are connected front to back so I was able to back into the vacant #27 to get level. The neighbor next to me (#25), appeared to be full-time living in their multi slide out trailer that had temporary jacks on the slide outs as they were damaged. Not sure if the trailer could even be towed in it’s current condition. After getting situated a woman came out to ask if I was in #27, I said no I was in #29. So she hooked into the power on #27 saying there’s wasn’t working properly. Then proceeded to dump their holding tank at #27 sewer drain right by my picnic table. Very close spaces with no dividers between.
Hidden Valley Lake Association doesn’t seem to put much effort into maintaining this campground.
Could not get much cell service or internet even with a WeBoost cellular booster.

Location is wonderful. The RV park is a mixture of permanent and overnight patrons. There is a boat ramp to the sand. Saw several people with fish that were gotten by spear fishing as well as by boat. Our side of the park only had water no electric. They do have a dump station which helps. The rules for operating your generator are very limited. 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. That’s it! Bathrooms and showers were old but clean. We got the impression the sites book 12 months in advance. We got lucky on our last minute booking. Super fine dirt and sand so bring a large mat for your entrance.

After driving 471 miles this was a very welcomed and convenient place to stay on my way to the San Juan Islands next day. Gravel road and site pads, but all level. The casino gives choices to eat and entertainment with gaming, (although I personally was unlucky). Cell service was weak, but the casino has excellent WIFI. I was able to do some work and run our Roku without issue.
