Situated at a rest stop, overlooking the Missouri River from a hilltop, this is a really nice place to stop and take a break. She is off to the side, so there’s plenty of room to see her away from the people headed to the bathroom. She’s really worth the stop- day or night, since they light her up then.
Stopped by on the way out of Badlands and the kids had a blast feeding the prairie dogs!
Nice hiking spot in northeastern WV. Has multiple trails that can be hiked. It is mostly known for its scenic overlook which allows an awesome view of the valley. There are picnic tables and a playground nearby, making it a family friendly destination, but these areas are seasonal so check before venturing in if its between early fall and summer.
Costs $30 to enter the park in an individual vehicle, and the fee covers seven days. There is a long winding loop that takes you through the Badlands and allows for several viewing points. You can hike through areas of the park if you want a more hands-on interaction. It is an amazing location, and I highly recommend the experience.
Made a quick stop here and really liked it. They roast their own beans on premises and you are met with the scent as soon as you open the door. It was staffed with friendly people and cute merchandise. They had tasty baked goods, and a good selection of coffee drinks. I’d definitely hang out here again.
