“Featuring the famous 6 ton prairie dog!”
Feed the Prairie Dogs, check out the The Ranch Store and take your photo with the famous six-ton Prairie Dog! There is a large prairie dog colony to the north of the store, where you can walk among the prairie dogs and feed them a snack of unsalted peanuts. Standing over the entire colony is, of course, the six-ton Prairie Dog. Just as it was fifty years ago, there is still free admission. The gift shop carries a wide variety of affordable gifts, a large selection of both children’s and adult t-shirts, and locally made products. You can also find the usual camera supplies, postcards, and of course the elusive postcard stamps that everyone forgets to purchase before they left home. Refreshments and picnic tables are also available for your enjoyment. Don't forget to feed the Prairie Dogs. The Ranch Store is open from late May through mid September. Store Hours: 8AM to 6PM MST

On the map, its located at the wrong place, better to follow directions from their website
This is nowhere near where it's shown on the map. It's on 240 south of I-90 exit 131. The prairie dogs are a treat.
This was by far the most fun I’ve had in a long time feeding these things. For $1 dollar a bag of peanuts you can feed a multitude of prairie dogs. Supper fun. Even the teenager let loose lol
You see the big prairie dog not long after you leave the Badlands on the east side of the loop. One of our favorite parts of our vacation was feeding the adorable (but plague-ridden) prairie dogs, and taken cheesy pictures with the 20 foot statue. Super fun! Get multiple bags of peanuts from the store, you'll want them.
Fun little stop on the way into the badlands. The prairie dogs were cute and defiantly not scared of people. We had to keep a close eye on our 2 year old so she would step into a prairie dog hole. We did end up getting her a stuffed prairie dog in the store since she was good about not scaring them. Stock up on water especially if you are going to hike in the badlands.
The store was closed when we got there but you could still buy peanuts outside for $1 per (very small) bag. Worth every penny! The prairie dogs were so flippin cute! World’s Largest Prairie Dog is worth the stop, too.
I loved hand feeding the prarie dogs! Our family took a cheesy picture with the
20 ft tall prarie dog, too. What a blast!
Waze took us to the right location. Good place to see prairie dogs but not much else. Store was a good place to hide from the downpour and the dogs came out as soon as it stopped raining.
Fun! Fun! Fun! Worth the stop! I also felt better knowing they work with a researchers on studying Prairie Dogs!
Stopped by on the way out of Badlands and the kids had a blast feeding the prairie dogs!
