Unfortunately the lighthouse is now closed to the public for the forseeable future. You can get within like 300 feet of it, but need to stay outside the gate. There are some benches overlooking the ocean on a nearby grassy area which is a nice view of the lighthouse but wish we could get closer!

Part of an overall pretty cool exit! It's a big thermometer, if you're stopping through on a hot summer day definitely worth it to at least get some photos of how dang hot it is. Also stop by the "alien fresh jerkey" store right down the road for some awesome pictures of aliens in a space car, big alien statues, and what looks like will be a "ufo hotel" when they're done building it! Surprised it's not on roadtrippers yet!

Beautiful to see from afar and up close. Totally worth the stop. On display until may 2018.

Pulled off and went all the way to the desert studies center -- so fun and eerie! No one else around except for another family. A quick 10 min walk around the oasis was nice and I took some photos. Definitely a cool place to let kids run around for awhile.

Stopped by -- luckily didn't get ambushed by dogs although some barked at me for a nearby house. Was a nice random 10min stopping point with no one else around at all. Strange and serene, walked around, took some pictures. These types of oddities will be gone soon (it's already been around for 30+ years!) and it's nice to appreciate them before they're cleared out to make way for something less unique.
