Cozy older style cabin. We loved the location, high mountain elevation with lots of trees and green landscape. Hot tub currently closed (Covid). Older decorations, but still had a nice cozy feel.
Coming from Oregon, this campground was a gem! So peaceful and quiet. The sites were very well spread out with nice space between each one. All we heard were owls. It is far away from pretty much anything. Bring what you need - it’s not a quick jaunt to a store. Also only $7! Beautiful location.
This is such a beautiful place to stay! We decided not to stay in Durango for the night, just to experience a place like this. Peaceful, beautiful, family owned and the attention to detail is so full of charm and character. We stayed in the least expensive room, and it was large, spacious and felt like home, but better!
This is exactly what we were hoping for. A remote location that uses well water, solar, wood stove heat, off grid stay for a disconnect. The hosts were very pleasant, we enjoyed our conversation over dinnner. Basic salad, bbq chicken, beans and corn. The hosts live here full time, so you feel like a guest of their home. Very quiet, and clear skies at high elevation and an amazing view!
The entrance is pretty unusual. Not sure what to expect when we drove in, but upon entrance we were surprised with the authentic detail, unique lodging and clean room. There is a lot of character here, it was a fun find! We enjoyed our stay. The dining was currently closed, bring food/drinks if needed. No additional services available.
This place has so much character and is an amazing and unique experience! The kind of place you remember for years to come. We were passing through on a road trip, but decided to stay an extra day, because we loved the European flare of Midway.
Absolutely beautiful side trip while traveling through. Ate a picnic lunch and took the short trails to the overlook. Great leg stretch with a fantastic view!
Quick and easy access to the river, but as far as true “falls” go, this isn’t it. Great for picnic, water access and a walk along the river though.
Very quaint small independent hotel with friendly owners, a welcoming lobby and clean room.
