Clean, family friendly. Kids were running around, on bikes, etc. Right on Oak Creek, nice spring, nice shade. Electric voltage dropped in late afternoon, as everyone ran air conditioning. (Not so good for refrig!). Spaces are VERY close, so don't plan on sleeping after your neighbor's kids awake! limited wifi only at clubhouse. no cell.

At the local visitor center, the person at the desk said this is one of the best campgrounds in the area, but they are so often filled! I see why there are a lot of repeat campers here. If you can use the dump station and can get by with just electric and water, the E/W sites are large and well separated. Lots of green screen gives privacy from view and smoke of neighboring campsites. The hosts are helpful and friendly. We love it here!

Spaces are much further apart than in a commercial campground. We had a spot on the end, with a stream across the street. The trees provided good shade, so our solar panels didn't fully recharge, but the shade is great. A wild turkey was our welcome committee. We were there early in the season, so it wasn't full. Only wifi is standing on the porch of the ranger station. No cell, but it's reasonable in town. Wildflowers were amazing! Volunteer at the ranger station had wonderful suggestions!

From our site, we could see the large trucks over the shrubbery. Even these sites weren't bad, as traffic frequency lessens at night. Sites were paved and level. We would definitely come again!

They discourage running the generator at this boondocking site. So, it's very quiet. The location can't be better for getting an early start the next day at Petrified Forest National Park. We were within site of the gate!
