Roads were easy to navigate to campground. Site 79 was a back in, very level, private and wooded. Was a perfect size for our teardrop camper. Owners accompanied you to site to make sure you were able to get set up. Nice camp store with RV supplies, groceries and gifts. 10 pin bowling center and game room on site along with mini golf and pool, Hunt Brothers Pizza and ice cream and laundry. Electric and water on site worked well. Picnic table on concrete slab. Fire ring in sandy soil. Restrooms and showers were clean. Verizon cell worked great. Would book this site again if visiting this area. Did not use any discount.

We used the MD State Park senior pass Sun thru Thur to get 1/2 price rates. Sites were well spaced. Our site #22 Ash was on the outside loop which had lots of trees and low brush between most sites. A lot of the sites on the inside of the loop went back further into the trees and were very private, not at all visible to the bath house, which will be my choice on my next visit. The pull thru sites 11 and 13 were excellent as well as 12 and 23 in the inside loop. This is the only electric loop, which also allows pets, but I noticed a lot of owners did not follow the rules of pets on a leash at all times. Lots of wooded paths leading to the bath house from the inside sites. Rocky Gap seems to be more wooded than a lot of the other Md State Parks. Rocky Gap is a nice state park, rangers patrol on a regular basis. Electric worked well and water was located thru out the loop. Restrooms and showers worked great and were cleaned on a regular schedule. We will be going again next year, booking site #23 which is heavily wooded, private and on the inside loop and booking on the Potomac Eagle RR. We camped at Rocky Gap State Park in a 15' Teardrop Travel Trailer. Things to do in the area: Go on the Western Md Scenic Railroad. A good restaurant is Crabby Pig. Stop at the chamber of commerce in the railroad station for brochures and get a street map of Cumberland. A great lunch deli is Queen Street Creamery & Deli. On 68 not far from the campground, a must go to restaurant is Puccini's. Great wood fired pizza, sandwiches and dinners. Nice antique shopping in the area, but still close enough to travel around the surrounding areas. This is my favorite state park, been tent camping here for years using a non electric camping site 187 in the Gum loop, but recently purchased the teardrop.

We used the Golden Age pass to get 1/2 price camping Sunday - Thur. We stopped at the main gate to check in, but since it was off season there were no rangers on duty, but they did have a sign in sheet with a confirmation of our reservation. Even though no rangers were on regular duty, they did patrol the campground numerous times throughout the day. As mentioned in my July 24, 2018 review below, we booked site 23 in the Ash loop which is the only electric loop. The site backed into the wooded area, very roomy and very private with a nice path to the restroom and shower facilities. There was plenty of room in the pad area for our 15' teardrop and a 12 x 12 pop up canopy with additional seating around. The site was pretty level, only needed a thin strip of wood to level up under one side. Electric worked great, and the water spigot is very close if you need to get more water. The campground was not busy, mainly there were a lot of overnight campers. We had a regular family of 10 wild turkeys visiting our campsite and the neighboring sites throughout the park every morning and evening. Restrooms and showers were cleaned daily and were in good working order. We did walk around the campground and again scouted out different sites to stay in the future. We picked out site #14 for a future stay which is heavily wooded, backed into the woods and very roomy. The driveway is one of the few that are paved. The fire ring is outside of the camping pad which will give you even more room around your camping unit. We road the Potomac Eagle RR in Romney WV to view the Bald Eagles which we highly recommend. (sit on the left side of the train) See my comments July 2018 for additional reviews of the park and surrounding area. Looking forward to staying at Rocky Gap again, as I mention again that this is my favorite Md State Park.

We used a Good Sam discount and paid the $5 to guarantee the site via phone. Only stayed 2 nights for a wedding in the area Sept. 8/9. Site B2 needed some leveling, was paved with nice picnic table. Roomy enough for our teardrop and Ram pickup, but very close to the loop road. Check in was quick and friendly owners. Ice available as well as propane and rv supplies. A short walk to the restrooms which were code entry, very clean and showers worked great. If we were staying in the area again, we would reserve C2 - seemed to be a little roomier and has a large shade tree. Pool looked nice, but we did not use. Pretty quiet, not a lot of kids using the playground. If we would have had more time and if the weather was nicer we would have walked down to check out the F row in the back of the park. We were very pleased with staying here and lots of eateries on Rt 234. A must go to restaurant is Brother Encore Italian Restaurant on Waterway Dr in the Lake Montclair Center - very close to the campground.

We used the senior golden age pass Sun - Thurs to get 1/2 price camping late Sept 2019. We booked Cedar electric loop site 18 (now #81) with water very close by. Very private, roomy and level. When backed in, there is no one to your left and only site 83 to your right. Next stay we will book #83 which is elevated and we feel would be a little bit more private, by backing further in to be away from the road and your outside living area would not even see site 81 below. These are the only 2 sites that we preferred which we felt were the most private. Nice walk to the restroom and showers. Showers worked great, restrooms were very clean. Dump station pull off near the campground exit. We rode to the beach which was very nice. We are now staying at Greenbrier instead of Cunningham Falls because of being much closer in travel to Hagerstown which we frequent for antique shopping. A nice ride into Boonsboro which is a nice little town. A must stop is Vesta Pizzeria! Great subs and pizza.

Camped in a 15' Teardrop trailer in Site #7 Addison - only electric loop and also allows pets. Very level, heavily wooded, private and plenty of shade. Various water locations through out the loop to fill up a water container. Very spacious site as most are in the Maryland State Parks. Electric worked well and good location. Restrooms and showers were great. Will definitely book this site again. When we were tent campers we always booked #105 in the Deer Spring Branch loop. Very private and huge site with lots of shade. We've also switched to a small one room cabins when the weather was going to be rainy and didn't want to set up camp in the rain. With the beauty of the cabin you can stay dry and still have a small front porch with overhang. Roomy outside to do cooking, campfire and eating at the picnic table. Cunningham, Houck area is centrally located for good antique shopping in Emmitsburg, Md and on Rt 40 in Hagerstown. Stop at Rocky's Pizza on Tippin Dr for great subs, pizza and italian food. In season stop by Pryor Orchard for great produce.
