We went in late November. While the main RV site was closed, we were able to park at a rustic site for a few hours to sleep. We were self contained, but did check the bathroom doors which were locked.
We would have paid but there were no envelopes to put money. I didn’t sleep well thinking we were going to get kicked out, but regardless, it was a beautiful spot.
Very pretty place. We went in November and everything was closed, but we could still look at all the buildings and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Stop in the town and go to the visitor center to learn more about the area. Very helpful and nice - we plan on returning in the future.
We felt very safe here for 1 night. We did not use any amenities, but I think electric was available.

This was a really nice campground! We went in December and there was no one there.
There are vault toilets and drinking water but we did not use as we were self contained.
WARNING - the road to get here off I17 is a horrible washboard dirt road. If you have an RV be prepared to drive 10mph. I would not attempt this drive in anything longer than 20ft. Many one lane roads. We were passed by about 30 Jeeps or ATV’s on our way back down to the freeway on a Saturday. Not much traffic during the week going up there.
Do NOT try to go here. We did 11/2023 and it is a private property. They wish that this location on the map would be removed. While once many years ago there was a little gift shop, it has since closed and is now a private ranch.
