The incline has officially been closed for a few months due to Covid-19. Locals are still climbing it and suggested we take Barr Trail (1.5 mile) which intercepts the incline. At that point we climbed 1000 steps to the top. We did it with our 7 and 9 yr old sons. Lots of stops on way up but it was worth it. Take extra water and no shade on incline. We took trail back down (@ 3 miles). Others on the incline started from bottom (went around barricades).

Neat place to explore and really neat to have seen a show there. Lots of hiking in area. Just climbing the stairs to the top of the amphitheater is a challenge.

We went at 8am and no charge to get in since the booth was not manned. Very quite with only a few people hiking. The gifts stores before you get into the park are a neat stop too.

Neat stop. There was still snow on the ground that we could walk to and have a snowball fight.

Take an hour or more and explore my family had fun. We drove to top and then half of us walked the 1.5 mile down. Don’t forget to walk briefly on the Oregon Trail and see the oxen and stagecoaches. Had a nice place for picnic too
