This is a must-see for native SF'ers and visitors. If you are able to come out here on a clear day, you gotta see this place. Make sure to stop by the stone maze (this is a great spot for pictures too with the Golden Gate bridge in the background).
Nice quiet secluded beach. Great spot to get away for some alone time and away from the business of life in the Bay Area. Not super big but big enough to just hang out.
Stopped by here yesterday and it's $10.25 to enter. Plan on coming back another time.
Pretty cool getting to see bison in San Francisco of all places. Only 3 stars because they’re behind several gates which makes getting pictures of them difficult
Growing up on the peninsula, this has always been one of my favorite beaches. Ask anyone about this beach, and most people know it as Taco Bell beach due to the fact that there is a Taco Bell on the beach, with a walk up window for surfers. The view out here on a clear day is one the most beautiful things in the Bay Area (also my background photo on my Roadtrippers profile).
One of my favorite places in California. It is so quiet and beautiful up here, and it's only a few hours from the Bay Area. Even if you don't camp at the lake, there's a lot of little towns in the area to stay in like Mi Wuk Village or Twain Harte
Such a cool view of Manhattan and Brooklyn as you're crossing it. Echo everything else said by others. Stay out of the bike lane. But also don't stop in the middle of the pedestrian lane to take pictures. Definitely worth taking a walk down to Dumbo for lunch on the grass below and catch the view from underneath as water traffic goes by.
Very somber and moving place. I came out here during the day and overheard one of the tour guides say that this place looks way different at night. He was saying that the way the lights are set up there and the way the shine on the figures causes their shadow to reflect on the marble wall in a way that he described as ghostly. I only wish I had time to come back and check this place out after sunset.
Service here is really good and hotel employees are really friendly. Except for the night Manager who always seems to be grouchy. Beds are decent size and rooms are clean. The one complaint is they don't have laundry service.
My parents, both of whom grew up during the Vietnam War, told me about how much protesting was against it because of how many lives were lost. When you see the size of this wall, and how long and how high it is, you start realize that there were so many who gave their lives for this country, whether they agreed with the cause or not. It is very somber and definitely at the top of the must see list when you come to DC. There was also several veterans walking through here when I did, and part of me wanted to thank them for their service, but I decided not to because this may not be the right place as it seemed really hard for these guys just being here.
