This is a pretty cool spot to visit, regardless of whether you're an aviation nerd or just want to check out some history. There are detailed models of their work at the visitor center. They also have a re-creation of the brothers trying their experiment from the actual spot where they launched. The monument at the top of the hill has a heck of a view too. And like any other national park/monument, military gets in free, so big plus there :)
This is on private property
There’s ponies here but you cannot feed them. Bummer. They were also not out when we visited.
Beautiful spot to watch a sunset
You can’t actually stop on the island. There’s no public access
Beautiful spot to watch the sunset, the sunrise, the surfers. Pretty much anything because the view here is incredible.
Came out to Maui and saw this as I was driving to the west side of the island. They take you up in the mountains where the ziplines are and you can see for MILES on a clear day, including some of the other islands. Had a blast!
There’s nothing here. The picture here is from the Wright brothers memorial further north.
Currently here while in C school. It’s actually pretty nice. Staff is friendly, hotel is clean, has a mini Nex too. Room has a microwave, fridge and a really comfortable bed. And really decent rates for active duty. Way nicer than the NGIS
Nothing special. The caverns are AWESOME! This is just a fancy cafeteria.
