Alcatraz was one of the most notorious prisons. Although now it is not operational it is now an attraction spot for tourists. This prison was closed after 29 years of operation on March 21st 1963. It did not close because of the disappearance of Morris and the Anglins, but because the institution was too expensive to continue operating. This prison also housed some of the worst criminals including Al Capone. Many prisoners died trying to escape off the island. The reason I chose this location was because it was maybe the best prisons that housed the worst of the worst criminals in the US and who knows what it would be like if this prison wasn't there to hold these men.
