As a heads up you have to pay an $8 entrance fee to see the gnome in the gardens - decided to pass as it's a pretty steep fee to pay for a photo op.

This place is AMAZING. Got here around 1230p on a Wednesday and they were open. This is NOT the 1880 town with the train car diner, which is located about another 3 hours west.
If 80s-style animatronic mannequins are your thing you'll be pleasantly surprised. Take it for what it is: a self-guided tour that's a fun stop off the highway through the boring drive west through South Dakota. It's a great time.
