As a heads up you have to pay an $8 entrance fee to see the gnome in the gardens - decided to pass as it's a pretty steep fee to pay for a photo op.
We went for the Gnome and found a whole lot more. It was a really nice little break from the drive. The gardens were great and the flowers and butterflies rocked.
This is located in Reiman Gardens on ISUs campus between Hwy 30 & Jack Trice Stadium. We found it to be worth our while.
Just be aware there is a fee to get into the gardens.
It's now s11 to see it is apart of a sculpture garden
Looked really cute. Nicely maintained gardens. $10 admissions. No pets allowed. Iowa State campus by the football stadium.
There is room to park an RV when you go in. For the avid gardener this is a nice stop. The building has facilities and is a fence contained park. Only come when open. Gnome is not accessible without admission.
Cute stop at Iowa State U. The gnome is one exhibit near the back of the Raymond Gardens. Tix were $10 each, but that seemed to be a fair price for entrance to the gardens.
Located in a gorgeous botanical garden right next to the Iowa State campus, this gnome was a highlight for my kids along with the Lego exhibit that was currently there. I didn't give it 5 because we thought the gnome was free from the app (for a quick photo op) but found out it can only be seen once paying garden admission. $8-adult; $4-kids
Love the Gnome but I think the butterflies stole the show!
Elwood the World's Largest Concrete Garden Gnome has been on my bucket list for awhile so I was delighted when we finally visited! The rest of Ames' Reiman Gardens is beautiful as well and definitely worth the price of admission if you're in the area.
