I believe I had their spin on biscuits and gravy for breakfast along with a side of bacon and maybe a few other things like potatoes and perhaps some sausage - it was nothing short of gluttonous. I savored every bite. Sadly, I've only had breakfast here just that once- however I could not recommend it more. Our server was super friendly and full of recommendations and it is located in such a scenic part of New Orleans- which only adds to its perfectness. Also, we went here on a weekday morning and thus were seated right away, but I hear on the weekends there can be a definite wait- just FYI.

While the headlining tacos of Django's have only ever been just alright- their Sunday brunch is delicious. The Bloody Marys are perfectly spiced and seasoned- and I highly recommend the fried potato appetizer.

Union Cemetery is a cemetery located near Stepney Road in Easton, Connecticut. The site dates back to the 1700s and is reputed to be one of the most haunted cemeteries not only in Connecticut, but also in the entire United States. Connecticut demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren have written a book about the cemetery entitled Graveyard.

The most famous character said to haunt the cemetery is the mysterious "White Lady", who has been sighted by several witnesses, including police and firemen. Many people have taken photographs of her; demonologist Ed Warren claims to have captured her essence on film. She is described as having long, dark hair, wearing what looks like a white nightgown and a white bonnet. The White Lady is usually sighted in the roadway along Route 59 or sometimes 111, and there are many reports of vehicles passing through her; in one instance, in 1993, an impact with the White Lady apparently made a dent in the vehicle of an off-duty fireman.

Another character considered to haunt the cemetery is "Red Eyes". A person walking by the cemetery at night claims to have seen a pair of red eyes peering at him from the brush. As he turned and ran, he heard footsteps following him. Cosmic Society's Donna Kent speculates that it was the ghost of Earle Kellog, a man who was set afire across the street and burned to death in 1935, or a man killed by a drunken driver, who reportedly provided his name—and a number of choice expletives—to a group of boys trying to capture electronic voice phenomena (EVP) in the cemetery one night.

Aroostook County, in Northern Maine, built a 40 mile (64.6 km) long scale model of the solar system, at a scale of 1 mile equaling the distance from earth to sun. The model extends along Route 1, between the University of Maine at Presque Isle campus and the Houlton Information Center at the end of I-95. The model has ten major components, those being the sun and the nine planets from Mercury to Pluto, with moons for Earth, Saturn, Jupiter (4) and Pluto.

The model serves as an educational resource and tourist attraction. It will also draw attention to Northern Maine, The University at Presque Isle, and the Northern Maine Museum of Science located there. All planets except Pluto would be visible from the road. Educational information on the planets would be found in the brochure, available at the Information Center in Houlton. The small models are mounted on tall - ten foot high above ground level - posts to be viewed from the car, with the planets included within a 1-foot (3.048 dm) diameter semicircular structure to better show the tilt of the planets.

The planets are exhibited as three-dimensional models. The two largest planetary models Jupiter and Saturn measure 4-5 feet across (1.22 - 1.52 m) and the two mid-sized planets Uranus and Neptune measuring 21-22 inches (53 - 56 cm) require rather substantial monuments. However, there is local precedent and experience for models of this size, as both Presque Isle and Caribou have built large, permanent, monuments commemorating the first two balloon crossings of the Atlantic Ocean. These include models of the balloon envelopes that are larger in size than the envisioned planets.

These models were constructed largely by local technical and high schools and funded by local service organizations. The solar system model requires a similar process in which local individuals and organizations take a direct role in construction and financing.

The last planet, Uranus, was set on its base on June 13th. The formal unveiling of the Maine Solar System Model happened at 1:00 on Saturday, June 14th 2003.

The presence of copper ore here was noted in 1705 and the site became one of the first commercial mines in the British Colonies. It was not a money-making venture, however, and work was abandoned in the 1750s.

Visitors can walk through the old mine tunnels and cavesThe tunnels left behind by miners burrowing deep underground became Connecticut's first prison in 1773. The General Assembly decided to confine serious criminals - burglars, horse thieves, counterfeiters, forgers - in a working environment as an alternative to the whipping post and other "infamous punishments" of the day.

Exterior stone walls at Old New-Gate PrisonThe first prisoner arrived on December 22, 1773. He escaped 18 days later. Subsequent prisoners were equally resourceful and many escapes - successful and unsuccessful - were to follow. Richard Steele, a "notorious villain and burglarian," held the record of three escapes from New-Gate. Political prisoners were confined here during the Revolutionary War and women were first committed in 1824. Considered costly to run and inhumane, the prison was closed in 1827. Attempts to revive mining operations failed.

Visitors enter the prison yard through 12'-tall walls. The brick guardhouse still stands and houses exhibits, but only ruins remain of the other prison buildings. A modern stairway provides access underground where air temperature is always in the 50°s. The visitor center features a gift shop.
