The U.S. Brig Niagara, home-ported in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a faithful reconstruction of Oliver Hazard Perry’s relief flagship during the Battle of Lake Erie. An embodiment of the dual mission of the Erie Maritime Museum and Flagship Niagara League, she serves as the centerpiece exhibit of the Erie Maritime Museum as well as a sail training vessel, part of an experiential learning program to preserve the art of historic square-rig seamanship.

Owned by the PHMC/State of PA, the flagship is operated and maintained by the 501(c)3 non-profit - the Flagship Niagara League. The FNL also executed and hosts the large scale festival, Tall Ships Erie, every 3 years, with the next festival being in 2025.

The Flagship Niagara League offers 2 week sail-training programs, day sails, and dockside events on the US Brig NIAGARA. The FNL also operates the 1983 Schooner LETTIE G HOWARD as a programmatic collaboration between the FNL and the South Street Seaport Museum in NYC. LETTIE offers day and sunset sails for the community, dockside events, and sails to nearby ports in the Great Lakes.

Worth the stop! On the nice summer days, ask for a table on the deck outside that overlooks the bay. A good place to eat if you’re a local or tourist alike! Great food, especially the seafood with some coming right from Lake Erie.
