We initially stopped to get a bite to eat and planned on driving another 50 miles to boondock for the night. Seeing the RV Park and 100 degrees on the truck’s thermometer sure made stopping here for the night seem like a great idea. Luckily for us they had one back-in site open and we quickly took it. Having full hookups to run the AC and shower was definitely better than dry camping for the night!

What sets this park above other places is how pleasant everyone is. Checking in was smooth and friendly. We ate at the restaurant and the wait staff was excellent as was the food. The whole facility is kept very clean and RV guests are welcome to use the hotel pool if they choose. The location makes it a good overnight on the way to or from Glacier. I’d recommend staying at this park!

We stayed weekend of 4/30-5/2, 2021. Trails are nice and wider than most. Echo Lake offers fishing and a nice swimming and picnic area. Campgrounds are relatively quiet and divided into three loops. The loop on end of road has best spacing and electric service. We will definitely return for summer and/or fall to experience other seasons at this relaxing park! Deducted 1/2 star for 30amp service not working at our site. 20amp was operable so still able to power every with planning.

The sites were narrow with humped and skinny grass pads which made it difficult to level and keep all of the wheels on the ground. Our living room slide was alongside one neighbor’s utility box trailer and there was just enough room on the camp side to put our awning out before encroaching on the other neighbor’s campsite. Shade trees were mostly absent in our area as well as most of the park which seemed somewhat odd for an established campground in the upper north woods.

Our site (62) was nestled in an area that housed a lot of seasonal residents who fill their yards with personal effects. The weekend of our stay (Mother’s Day, 24) must have been their inaugural spring kickoff as the air was filled with the sounds of circular saws and construction as well as a loud leaf blower being used to clean out a screen porch among other things. Much yelling and salutations were exchanged between the regulars.

There also appeared to be a popularity in golf cars at this park. Either that or a disproportionately high number of camp hosts! A favorite pastime seems to be riding these golf cars around the camp road. Again. And again. And again. And they are not quiet, electric cars but slightly older, louder gasoline engines making each start, stop and jerk of the gas pedal known to all within a 1,000 ft radius.

The seasonal residents definitely made it feel as if it was their park. Maybe paying long term rates affords them some sense of ownership? Our fifty bucks per night also means something more to us than hearing the same sounds we’d hear at our house but within a more cramped environment. For our money, this experience wasn’t worth it. However, if the lakeside sites offered sewer and were $10 less per night we would consider another visit to this park.
