55 degree winter camping and the place still had spots taken. Most sites are feet from the cliff and offer spectacular views. Minimal leveling required. Very close to highway but waves totally drown out all road noise.
Pit toilet is clean but very low to the ground. No water and high fee is why it’s a 4 and not 5 star location.

Anything under 25’ should fit here and I have no idea why anyone would choose Sunset parking lot over this. Clean flushing toilets and drinkable water and views of the valley and mountains. Winter Time was quiet by 7. North side is back in but has better views. Lots of pull through style sites though.

Mixture of tent and RV camping and I have no idea why anyone would choose Sunset parking lot over this. Some pull through can fit big rigs. Most will need some leveling. Spots go very fast. Clean flushing toilets and drinkable water and views of the valley and mountains. Winter Time was quiet by 7, even college kids. Coyotes were active most nights. 3G is active at night but data is too busy during the day.

Boondocked here between Bay Area and Death Valley. You can stay near the visitors center (clean pit toilet) or further in. We stayed a couple miles in on a side pull through style primitive site. Very little traffic. Some leveling is required but didn’t hear noise at night. Night security does patrol the canyon.

Nice quiet stay next to Big Lagoon tucked into a small sparse forest. The two spaces that are best views of the lagoon are number 11 and number 25. 11 might only fit 17’ and under, 25 is anything. Two other sites have water and power for extra. Most sites will require a little leveling. Host is very nice and the bathrooms are just fine.
Birding is spectacular over the lagoon and views of the coastal forest are amazing. Quiet and peaceful and highly recommended.
