The sites themselves are a little clustered close but it is clean and right on the water. If you’re lucky enough you’ll get a visit from some bears looking for a snack like Yogi! ❤️

Well Covid spoiled our plans to spend the summer in the pool, but the kids are still having a great time here. The staff is kinda and helpful but isn’t overbearing. The park is clean and has lots for the kiddos to do including a playground and jump pad. We have a view that is to die for and it is quiet!

We are a family of six that is traveling the country in an RV. We focus on finding family friendly and cost effective activites to do. When we do, we share them with our audience on social media @the.runaway.parents

This hot spring is a perfect activit for the whole family. Tucked away in a cow pasture, this beautiful hot spring is the perfect temperature. We spent hours on a winter day playing as a family.

It is free but donations are welcome. Be sure to clean up after yourself and be kind to the land. If you are interested in following our traveling journey follow us on Instagram, YouTube and Facebook by searching The Runaway Parents.

We are a family of 6, traveling full time. We document our journey on social media @the.runaway.parents as a way to help others who are thinking of doing the same we try to find affordable, family friendly activities and places to stay.

In 2019 we decided to winter in the Orlando area. So we spent 5 months doing the “Orlando shuffle”, which is bouncing back between the Thousand Trails and Encore parks. The Orlando Thousand Trails Park, Lovingly referred to as TTO, it was by far our favorite in the are. Lots of space for the rigs, but also lots of amenities. Often times you only get one or the other. We love that the pool and spa are open until 10:45 PM because it allows us some adult time after the kids go to bed, to connect with friends.

The only negatives we have are that if you are using your membership, you can only stay 2 weeks at a time during peak season, and the unhappy retirees that we encounter. I’ll go a little further into my second point.

While this isn’t the case with everyone, because we have also found an outpouring of support and love from retirees, TTO seems to be a place where young families aren’t as accepted. Some retirees have told us, our kids aren’t allowed in the pool (which is not the case), have been incredibly disrespectful to us and our children and have been very vocal about their dislike for the fact that we are “ruining” things for them. They do not want young families in the park. Because it’s “their park”. We as a community (The Traveling Families) have never experienced this anywhere else.

While it’s not the park’s fault and they are trying to make both groups happy, it is a reality when you come to TTO. So just be prepared. Learn the rules so you can stand up for yourself and be prepared to having to do so.

As far as location, it is perfect. So close to everything!
