Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 27, 2020This is 5 star or 3 star campground depending on what you want and where your site is. W/E sites 300-351 are very close together with little privacy and lots of noise. Expect kid noise during the daylight hours and party/music noise on the weekend. Quiet hour starts at 10pm, and on the weekends the noise was down by 10:30. The roads and sites are gravel/dirt, but they didn’t get muddy when it rained. Be prepared for hills both on the roads and getting into some sites. With tow vehicles and toads parked along the road it can be tricky getting your RV into your site or sometimes even passing through. That said, there were a lot of 30 foot and longer RVs tucked into these sites. W/E sites 100-220 are more private and spacious. The full hookup sites are along a creek/gully and are much larger with good privacy. The few premium sites are full hookup lake front. So if you are looking for quiet and privacy, and end up in the crowded W/E section, you won’t be happy. But if you have children or enjoy that weekend party atmosphere, this is your place. If you want the quiet, private atmosphere get a FHU site and I think you’ll be pleased. There are also a few tent sites, and about half the campground are rental cabins and cottages. They all seem to be very pleasantly situated as well. Be aware though, that while you can request what type of site you want, you have to pay a premium to reserve a specific site. Also rates are for double occupancy, meaning there is an extra charge for each child. Our rate is for 2 adults and includes taxes and fees. Everything seemed well run and well maintained.
There is a lot to do here. There is a lake with a sand beach For swimming and paddle boats and kayaks to rent. Next to the rental office was a tent to make tie dye shirts. The nature trail around the lake is a nice hike, though in places muddy and rocky. There are 2 playgrounds side by side - one for toddlers and one for older children. They were well utilized during our stay. Just 5 minutes down the road the same company has a water park and a family fun center with go carts, bumper cars, mini golf, batting cages and a snack bar with pizza, wings, etc. There is a free shuttle from the campground and a walking trail that takes about 15 minutes. The camp store is pretty well stocked with supplies and Adirondack souvenirs and has a cafe that serves breakfast sandwiches. WiFi at the main lodge was a little slow, but worked. This campground is open year round for snow activities. Snow mobile trails are all over the area. During winter months the cabins are heated and the campsites have electric but no sewer or water. Air conditioners and electric heaters are not allowed.
We enjoyed our stay here. The nearby towns of Old Forge (walking distance using the trail to the water park) and Inlet are fun with shops, beaches, summer outdoor concerts, and restaurants. There are numerous terrific hikes and of course all the water activities on the Fulton Chain of Lakes. There is good 365/24/7 free WiFi in the parking lot and grounds of the Old Forge Public Library. Inlet also has a town WiFi, but it wasn’t as strong. Our TMobile signal was 3 bars of 4G, but data was roaming and limited.

The sites themselves are a little clustered close but it is clean and right on the water. If you’re lucky enough you’ll get a visit from some bears looking for a snack like Yogi! ❤️
