We scoped this area out on a Saturday, and it was PACKED. There were tent campers there, and there are no bathrooms, so they are using the surrounding area as a toilet. It was too crowded for us to find a spot, so we came back on Sunday—still too crowded. By Monday morning, we were able to find a decent spot by the river. We had quite a few neighbors, but everyone was much more quiet and respectful during the weekdays. There were at least 10 other RVs there at all times, but people seemed to come and go every couple of days.

The river is gorgeous, and the weather was perfect. The land is basically free to camp on. We did pay $5 per vehicle per day to use the road, as the road itself is private property. I would avoid the place during the weekend, but if you can be there during the week or on the off-season, it is amazing. We were there for four days, and it was just enough.

We booked through Harvest Host and absolutely loved our stay. They have at least 40 sites, and even though it was busy on a Saturday, we had no problem finding a nice level spot. The RV area is a huge grassy field next to the 101, but traffic dies down in the evening. It was completely peaceful all night. Check in was simple, and we picked up cheese and wine in the evening to enjoy at our site. Everyone was super quiet and considerate. Next afternoon, we grabbed ice cream and coffee before heading out. It was a perfect stopover in Tillamook.

There are some clear cut areas here, but nothing compared to the lack of privacy at Whistlers. We stayed at both campgrounds and MUCH preferred this one. Our site was in the D Loop, and we had 30amp power. Loved how quiet it was and how nicely the sites were spaced. We have zero complaints! It’s also closer to Edith Cavell, Athabasca and Sunwapta Falls.

This has to be the worst RV park we have ever stayed in, hands down. First of all, the sites are extremely close together. This is a huge problem because there are many permanent residents there who obviously do not care what their sites look like. We were sandwiched in between several dilapidated RVs and a bus conversion that were completely run down. They had porches up to their rigs, so you know they had been there awhile. There was junk everywhere. The permanent resident next to us had three different vehicles squeezed into their space, and was constantly working on one of them. We barely had room to park our towed vehicle. Residents’ dogs were kenneled outside and barking. The dumpster was overflowing when we arrived. The office hours are 11am-3pm, but we never saw it staffed. Didn’t see an employee or camp host during our entire four night visit. Electrical was not great either. We kept tripping breakers whenever we ran our AC. Never had that problem anywhere else before or after. Our AC constantly shut off. When it was hot, we couldn’t leave the RV to sightsee because we couldn’t be sure our animals would be okay. Could not get out of there fast enough.
