I had no idea that I was booking a reservation at a waterpark..and a very busy one at that. Not only was the park full with campers, but families from miles around come here to have fun. This popular campground has not only a waterpark pool area, a mini golf course, rock climbing, food trucks, it is situated on the beautiful Saint John River, so kayaking and canoeing. As a single person, this was a bit more than I needed, but the kids really seemed to be having the best time here.

The sites are level gravel, and rather large in size, with a wide grass area between you and the next site. Though there aren't any trees or shrubs for privacy, it didn't feel like you were looking in the next campers window. There are a lot of pull-through sites, but a number of the back-in sites backed to the gorgeous Saint John river, allowing for beautiful views. The bike trail backs along this campground too, so you could walk or ride all the way to downtown, really awesome.

There were a wide range of site types, from tent to full hook-up RV, as well as overflow areas where you basically have a place to park your rig and that's it.

One of my favorite touches were the small garbage cans at the end of your site. Love that. The bathrooms were extremely clean, even with how crazy busy this place was.

This campground has something for everyone. I absolutely loved it here and would definitely come again. The campground is located just outside the very charming town of Freeport, which has great restaurants and shops, but far enough away to be feel very remote and relaxed. As mentioned in other reviews, this is a working farm as well as a community organic garden location. The campground offers a well stocked store within the office area, a small snack shop, and available local produce. Wifi is available and free in two locations; the office/snack area and in the 'East Bay' camp area where there is water/electric hookup sites. I stayed in the 'West Bay' camp area and dry camped with an ocean view site. (There is also a 'Middle Bay' for tents only.)

There are water entry access points located throughout the campground and kayaks available to rent for a nominal fee. The one bathroom facility in 'West Bay' is large, very clean (a bit rustic) and includes showers. There are also pit toilets dotted more frequently through out. Sites were pretty level packed earth and fairly large. There are a number of shade trees, especially along the ocean edge. A few of the interior sites that border the grass area/meadow are full sun, so something to keep in mind.

I took a lot of photo's and it was hard to decide which to post, so a great place for photography, birding, kayaking, swimming, watching the tide, checking out the farm animals, and a playground for the kids.

If you are in the Hudson Valley area, Interlake RV Park is the place to be. It is situated within minutes of Rhinebeck, Hyde Park and the Dutchess Wine Trail.

The campground itself is fairly large, with a myriad of sites; primitive, tent, on a hill, full shade, full sun, remote to down right neighborly (i.e. close). They range in size too from tent to extra-large to accommodate big rigs. I'd definitely suggest calling first and working out site specifics before booking. I noticed that some sites seem to be precariously situated up a slope or without maneuverability room and I'm assuming they are for 'seasonals' as I can't imagine a rig getting in out of of them on a regular basis. I believe all sites are back-in, and, at the time of my visit, recently leveled with small size paving gravel. There are several loops throughout the campground and it's helpful that they have someone direct you to your site on arrival. My site was at the end of a row, and backed to a fence, with two shade trees and some wonderful smelling jasmine that would waft in my open windows, full-hook up and 21 cable stations available, a fire-ring and picnic table, though the other side was fairly close to my neighbor without much privacy.

I was thrown by the RV sales in the name, I only saw one small trailer for sale and it looked to be someones used towable. It's not an RV lot as I was picturing before arrival.

This is the type of place where the same campers come year after year and absolutely love it. It has a very family feel. The owners are extremely nice and accommodating, as was everyone in the front office. They've a large rec hall that holds a laundry room and full service snack bar, along with a pool table, board games, small lending library, and even a small stage for entertainment. I saw that an Elvis impersonator and a ventriloquist were on the docket for this Summer. Outside of the rec hall, are tables, a playground and a large pool area. There's even a catch-release pond.

They have wifi with pretty good access, though the park was not crowded during my stay. However, there isn't much in the way of cellphone reception.

If you don't have a rig and need a place to stay they've got you covered there as well. Everything was clean and well kept (bathrooms, showers, laundry, pool, and their private rentals from what I saw)

While there isn't a nearby Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, if your looking for quality, go directly to the source. A lot of the farms sell directly and there's also a wonderful Farmer's market.

I am new to RVing and live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have discovered that finding a campground in my local area can be something of a challenge. Likely Place is a little further afield than I would prefer to travel in one day, but, boy, was it worth the trip. I came in through Hwy 299, off of I-5. The weather was calling for rain/snow showers so thought it safer than tackling the Tahoe/I-80 Summit. Hwy 299 was really picturesque, surprisingly so, and no crazy grades.

Upon arrival to Likely Place, there was a Bald Eagle sitting in the field outside the front gate. What an awesome welcome. Really, that was the only welcome because their wasn't anyone posted in the RV resort. I had arrived a little after 5pm, and did a self-check in. The downside was that the better upper loop sites were closed off, leaving me the lower loop; sites 1-10, which is all gravel except for one lone tree. I had my choice of sites, all pull-through on this level, because there was only one other RV in the entire place. I chose the end site 10, which included full-hookup, and a picnic table. (No wi-fi was available when I was there in April, however, there is excellent Verizon coverage, so I just hotspotted to my iphone.) The gravel was also a bit uneven and I had to figure out had to use my leveling blocks for the first time (not a bad thing).

That first evening it snowed huge white flakes. It was brilliant. The following three days the weather cleared, we had a few more arrivals (they all parked in the upper loop and seemed to be golfers) and I was able to enjoy the main reason for my visit; the night sky. Oh, the brilliance in the stars....there were so many and I could see the Milky Way. I don't think I've seen the Milky Way in over 20 years. This is why I came, this is why I purchased my Airstream. I had meant to take some photo's of the night sky, but it was way too cold for me to hang out for much longer than to just be in awe and admire. I'll be back when the weather is a little warmer, and my camera will be ready to capture the ever elusive beauty of the stars. I understand they have cement pads available, with electricity, for telescope viewing. That would be very cool.

As for wildlife, Modoc county is known for it's wildlife refuge, mostly birds. Along with the Eagle, I saw some Sandhill Cranes nearby. In the park, there was a large herd of deer, and the most enormous Jack Rabbits. I think they were larger then my dogs. Though not wildlife, cows are kinda noisy creatures. I swear I thought one was going into labor or something. Lots of mooing in the morning. There is pasture lands surrounding the park.

The only thing that wasn't readily available was, gas, grocery's or food, so be sure to bring all supplies with you.
