This was close to the highway and gas stations for easy access on and off the road. There were many amenities available which we did not partake of but available nonetheless, like an arcade, laundry, stocked store, and showers. We booked same day and came in around 7pm after visiting Devils Tower and a long drive from North Dakota/Montana. Good Wifi signal for devices even for streaming movies. Not much to say about this place but sometimes there isn't much to report on when it's an adequate place to spend the night. Far enough from the highway so no traffic noise and the other campers were quiet even though the site was close to full on July 5. This looks like a popular spot for tourists and during Sturgis Rally time. Everything was very clean and saw plenty of staff on the grounds keeping up maintenance and cleaning.

I would stay here again.

We were headed south from Devil's Tower to Colorado NM and needed a place to sleep and I found this spot through Campendium. I did a quick search on the BLM site to confirm its location and we arrived in the early evening. The dirt road in is about 13 miles from Rawlins but is in good shape in the summertime (the BLM website says that it's impassable in the winter due to snow) and is an easy drive. There are a couple of day use parking areas that a few people decided to camp in although we used the actual campground since it had a picnic table and a great view. There are 5 total sites in the campground and number 5 is the biggest and best for travel trailers and RVs (40 foot total for us) with easy looped access. I suppose you could camp down by the reservoir itself but there was lots of waterfowl present in the lake and we didn't want to disturb them. The remaining 4 campsites are mainly for car/tent campers with spots 3 & 4 functioning almost as a double or group site. There are two vault toilets (one at the campground and the other down closer to the lake) which were pretty clean and stocked; the reservoir appeared to be pretty low compared to Apple satellite images, but there is a boat launch that can be accessed even at the perceived low lake level.

We stayed in early July and there was one additional campsite occupant, an RV staying by the south day use area, and another tent camper that pitched just outside the designated camping area. I would stay here again.

Spent Labor Day weekend here tethered to power and water. Spigots all have vacuum breakers so no backflow or cross connections; paved roads make for great bike and scooter riding for the kiddos. Never used the bathrooms. Far enough from the freeway to not hear sounds but you can see the traffic; the trains do come by frequently out past the freeway but are not noisy, although you can see/hear them sometimes. Milky Way clouds were visible all night as there isn’t much light pollution either. T-Mobile at full signal, just a little laggy, but fast LTE. A few miles down the road, in the park, are Homolovi I and II, both Hopi Ruins from 600 years ago and are well worth the short drive or ride. Visitor Center was closed due to COVID. A few short trails to hike in the campground too. Each site has a fire ring and some additionally have another BBQ grill, so fires are okay even during fire restrictions in Arizona. Some sites have graded tent pads.

Stayed here after visiting Capulin Volcano in New Mexico en route to Washita Battlefield in Cheyenne, OK.

Staff was helpful and came up to me after I setup at my site and gave me the pass/permit for the site. My power was unlocked although I did see the combination lock on it. The inside loop has power but there are outside camping sites which don't and I can see this place getting loud during busy times. We were here in mid-July and it was hot, but only the inside electric loop was occupied with only a few boats on the lake so we had an unobstructed view of the lake from our site. Like another reviewer said, tons of sandburs in the grass which stuck immediately in my dogs paws so we had to walk her in the rocked area instead (she prefers that anyway).

Lots of side roads that lead to town and around the lake so Apple Maps helps immensely. It's dark and quiet at night and not too many bugs when we were there. It was breezy but not windy like many reviews have stated but I kept my awning retracted anyway just in case. We only stayed one night and we enjoyed our time here. We will likely return although I can't see us passing through this part of Texas ever again!

We were looking for a camp site on the way home to Arizona from Lone Pine and found this place from another website. The washboard road in was a little scary at first, especially in a 2WD truck pulling a 20' TT but the road is wide and I was able to make it across all the dips with no problem. You have to go all the way to the end to find the campground but it was worth the drive. There is a railroad bridge at the entrance to the campground and freight trains do use it occasionally. The sites are large and it's a good place to stay for $6 ($3 with Access Pass), but come in during daylight if you aren't so sure about your vehicle's capability. The first few camp spots are popular with OHV campers and their rigs but we settled in toward the back and had a pleasant night. The fire pits were concrete and even had an elevated concrete grill to cook on! It was a bit windy in November 2020 but didn't get too cold.

Drove out the next morning and there were more people heading in with their toys as it's a pretty popular day use spot. There is a creepy property adjacent to the road on your left when you first leave the highway towards the campsites with lots of junk and No Trespassing signs but just follow the road and you should be fine. I did not experience any deep sand but the gravel was loose in several spots along the road but I never felt as though I was ever going to be in trouble. YMMV with your load, weather, and road conditions.

Minus 1 star for the road coming in and train noise, otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Nice stopover at this county park in Eugene after Crater Lake and before continuing to Seattle. Quiet and peaceful park with lots of room between sites and really nothing out of the ordinary to report! I guess no news is good news here and really had no other thoughts about this place. The rat living in a hole by our picnic table which my kids had fun messing with. Coming from Phoenix in July made the cooler weather here spectacular!

Wifi connected with strong signal strength but service was virtually unusable for my entire party as no internet sites would load. iMessage didn't work either so I stayed on T-Mobile 5G which was pretty strong, just didn't want to use all my data! Arrived later in the day so I called the phone number of the host who directed me to the spot and that was it since I was prepaid.

Would recommend but minus one star because of the poor Wifi, especially if you need to get work done remotely and reliably.

Stayed here on the 4th of July 2022 and there were firecrackers and fireworks going off well into the night and early morning. Our site had ample grass area for playing and the Snake River is about 200 feet away but it is part of the public park so you can expect activity that some kids would be playing there. There is a large playground which was very popular with the kiddos; one of the swings squeaked loudly when in use and it reminded me of a horror movie setting (but was not too disturbing). Lots of trees and shady areas, firepits are well maintained, and the hosts take good care of the place too. Mostly level sites (mine did require leveling blocks) and there are pull throughs and back-ins. Lots of boat traffic on the river too so pick your site accordingly.

My biggest problem was the power: I hooked up my 50amp connector and turned on my AC because it was nearing 100, but the park was almost full and I'm sure that everyone else that could be using AC, was using AC. The lights flickered in my rig and my refrigerator wasn't too happy so I switched it to propane. The AC never went out and I didn't have a surge protector or monitor between the park power and my rig so I couldn't monitor the voltage. It eventually stabilized enough to not constantly concern me but watching my own internal battery/power monitors, voltage didn't appear stable at all as my power convertor kept sending different amps to my battery as the park power fluctuated. Not fun and multiple AC units might not be able to keep up.

T-Mobile service at site 53 was bad, but did connect for a slow connection. Reception got to 2 bars 5G near the parking lot entrance but closer to the water got worse. It's about 15 minutes into town if you need gas or groceries/supplies with plenty of bridges to cross. Tons of earwigs (as previously mentioned) on the ground and the ants are huge (but not bothersome).

Recreation.gov or the app is the only way to reserve sites here now. $15 I paid is indicative of the discount I get through my Access Pass.

I would stay here again.

We stayed in this campground in February 2020 and the RV sites are all well maintained concrete pads with picnic tables and charcoal grills. My truck and trailer measure 36' in length so I stayed at a 40' max site but I definitely could have stayed at a 35' max site with room to spare. No campfires allowed but you can bring and use a fire pit if it's at least 12" off the ground. The generator hours in the non-summer seasons are 8am - 10am and 4pm - 6pm which makes it a little challenging to manage cooking meals if you use a microwave or anything needing heavy electrical usage. There are generator sites and non-generator sites as well as tent only sites which made this the quietest campground that I have ever been to. It appeared that 90% of the RV sites were taken and I think that I was the only camp sites with kids (10 and 7); the rest of the population appeared to be mature adults from Canada and northern states. Bathrooms were clean and accessible.

The best part of the campsite was its easy accessibility to the rest of the National Monument. The Visitor Center is 1.5 miles away and the North Puerto Blanco Scenic Loop starts close by too. The Ajo Mountain loop is just across the 85 and is also easily accessible. 5 miles to the south is the border and the South Puerto Blanco Scenic Loop and trail access including Quitobaquito.

We would definitely come back the next time we are here especially since summer season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) there are no generator hour restrictions aside from quiet hours starting at 10pm. This site appears to be very popular in February so I would be sure to book as soon as you know your dates through recreation.gov. We were a walk in and stayed 2 nights in the same spot before having to move to an adjacent site because of an existing reservation.

I have Mint Mobile which uses T-Mobile 4G towers and I had ZERO service throughout the entire monument. I didn't get cell service until driving back north to Why which went to 4 bars LTE. The Visitor Center has free wifi if you need internet access. I had no cell service down in Lukeville either. The Visitor Center has no food or snacks so you have to go 5 miles south to Lukeville if you need any amenities like gas or snacks.

We were here during blasting for the new border wall and were not affected by any of the construction. You can drive right up to the new and old border walls and get a feel of just how different the area is going to be once it's complete. To me and my family, the views are a bit ruined with the demolition and removal of land and ancient cactus being replaced with concrete and steel. I don't know how wildlife will be able to migrate freely as they were before. Be aware, there are signs warning of illegal and dangerous smuggling operations throughout the desert on trails and near problem areas. We did encounter a group of border crossers that eventually got detained by CBP so you should always be wary of your surroundings. The campsite itself is 5 miles away from the border but there are still signs warning of illegal activity as you enter the site.

Easy to find by following the sign at the end of the paved road but it was a little tricky getting Apple Maps to recognize it as a destination.

This is just a dirt lot with a few buildings that are placed here but there is no power and no water and has a single pit toilet. The area is fenced in by barbed wire and has a few solar lights by the fence, gate, and payment box. There is no one else around for miles and we didn't see the property managers or owners the one day/night we stayed.

We pulled in around 7pm with a little bit of daylight left with no one else there. We camped overnight, using the generator for a few hours, then left the trailer there in the morning when we went to Chaco Culture NHP for the day. I would recommend leaving your trailer while traveling to Chaco Culture NHP since the road gets really bad and rutted most of the way in.

There doesn't appear to be any power to the entire site but there are signs saying there is camera surveillance along with a few cameras located on one of the buildings, but I think they were just there as decoys. The other buildings there don't appear to be powered either as I couldn't find any electrical service entrances. Still, we felt safe enough to stay overnight and to leave the trailer for a few hours.

It's pricey for a 20+ foot trailer at $40, but $20 for under 20' is much more reasonable, but your options out here are limited at best, and the closest BLM land was too far to leave the trailer for a day trip into CCNHP.

I would likely stay/drop here again when I return to CCNHP, but it is a bit of a hassle so maybe I will just tent camp in the cooler months at the campground at CCNHP to save the trouble. Just understand what you are getting here and what you will pay.

T-Mobile worked at one bar but was fast when connected. Very dark skies here at night and we were able to see the Starlink satellite train/array pass overhead as well as the Milky Way. No light pollution here, but there are bugs. Cash only so come prepared.
