This campsite is truly a resort. There’s a bocce ball and corn hole area with games provided for campers. The staff was excellent and the maintenance was above average. We enjoyed nightly campfire camaraderie around the built-in gas fire pit. We received daily texts inviting us to park events. We were able to ride our e-bikes down to the pier and into Avila beach where there were many restaurants and wine bars to choose from. We will definitely return!

We needed a one night stay on our way home from Oregon and found this little jewel just off I-5. Far enough off the freeway there was no road noise at all. We booked a Thursday night online two days before in early October and got the last RV site. It was a full hookup, 28 ft. pull through site. The one we had was in the center of the park and pretty close to other sites. There were sites on the outer edge of the park that were more spacious and private.

The campground itself had a nice little store, game-room and laundry room. The public bathrooms had access codes and they were very nice. The free internet wasn’t very strong though. We couldn’t stream any movies and cell reception was poor but better with the internet. It was ok with us as after all, we were in a mountainous area.

There is a separate resort section that has lots of converted caboose cars rented as cabins. Very cool! That’s where the train car restaurant and bar are located. This is a short walk from the RV area. Absolutely loved the nostalgia there and the staff were wonderful and friendly. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast there and thought the food was excellent!

There were two things I hadn’t seen mentioned in any other reviews. There is a nearby real train that comes by periodically. It was part of the ambiance of the place but did wake me at 7:30 am. It was not a big deal for us. The other thing was the recent addition of a children’s train that offers a tour of the resort and campground areas. It was so cute to see it full of families driving past our RV.

We love this campground and will definitely return!
