The park is in a pretty shady part of town and spaces are pretty close together BUT is in a really great location for exploring south Florida. Key Largo is 25 minutes away, Key West 2.5 hours, Everglades National Park is 17 minutes away and you can be in Miami Beach in 50 minutes.

Trust me when I say it's not a very pretty park and the surrounding area is pretty rough around the edges but if you are looking for a good base camp to explore South Florida, it's perfect for the price.

Loop A (Aberts Squirrel loop) is a first come, first served loop but a great tip to know is the host comes around to spots early in the morning and flips the "Open" tag on sites that are departing that day. If you get to the park early, you can see what spaces are going to be available that day and go to the kiosk to purchase. You should go to the site and put your receipt and flip the flag to "Site Reserved" even if someone is still in the space. They need to leave by 11:30 but if they leave sooner, you can put your stuff in the space as soon as it's free.

As others have said, not many sites are level but they are paved so pretty easy to get level with blocks. The campground is well maintained and the host is friendly and helpful. Firewood is for sale on an honor system "$1 per stick" donation.

Site 9 is at the top of the hill so the internet was pretty darn good.

The RV Park in the fairgrounds is pretty much an open gravel lot with a picnic table (metal) and Park bbq (wood or briquette) spot. The RV park has a slight hill so most sites have a slight angle to them but is totally manageable. I had one corner up on 2 yellow blocks to get RV level.
Verizon was 76/17, AT&T 37/12 (Mbs down/up). Stores are close by but if you need anything more than from a small town, you need to go to Redmond (30min) or Bend (50min).

We originally stayed in Bend for a week but it was so expensive, we moved up here so we could get another week exploring the area. Worked great for that since this park is about 20min north of Smith Rock State Park and we did a great hike in Cove Palisades State Park as well. Loads of raptors in the sky if you like birding as well. We say a lot of hawks, bald eagles and golden eagles around Smith Rock SP and around the farms on the way to Cove Palisades SP.

Overall the site was a great launching pad to explore the area at a reasonable price. The RV Park itself has stable hookups & wifi and the Host is super nice. You can tell she takes care of business as well as she is constantly moving around and keeps the park in good order.

4-star because it's basically a parking lot with hook-ups and has some challenging spots as far as being on a slight hill.
