I paid $26 with Escapees and was totally surprised. All the sites have nice picnic tables & full hook ups with great cable with tons of channels. loads and loads of grass, which is great if you're traveling with a furbuddy. There are nice little table & barbeque areas around and the place is immaculate. Spots are tight, to be sure. But they're well laid out so you don't feel like you're in your neighbor's space. (or their kids are in yours). The freight train does run nearby, but not at night. It didn't bother me at all and I'm a light sleeper. I did not check out the restrooms, but given how tidy the rest of the place is, I would have to figure they are nice enough. All the sites are pull throughs, however some are doubles so if you're the one behind and you leave before the one in front, you may have to back out. I have a little teeny MH, so I'm used to that. If you're a biggie or draggin a toad, you would get your own. Staff is darling and friendly and helpful. Very happy here.

Again, you get what you pay for. This place is astronomically priced at $108, but given the options in New Orleans, worth the $. The cost keeps out the riff-raff (sorry, riff-raff… but I doubt you know who you are), and affords a true resort in the city. The place is not huge, but it is beautiful. Main building looks very NOLA, all brick and ironwork. The drives and spaces are all patterned brick, cobblestone and grass, lots of places for hot-paws to walk, large sites (I paced one pad at 48’), with double wide for your toad or all the set up you would like. They are all back in, so if you’ve not learned to back your rig yet, NOLA is not the place for you. Great hook ups (even those are pretty pedestals), ground level dump access (no walking that line… one of my peeves), the best cable I’ve encountered in all my travels, but no Wi-Fi except in the office. They had band-sucker issues and are working on a solution. They do have extra amenities like an ice machine, a lovely air conditioned Lobby, a very well equipped and beautiful computer room/office for guests, and beautiful screened gazebos in some of the sites. There is a lovely pool in a French Quarter type courtyard feel, with cascade jacuzzi and a very well equipped work out room, as well as a small laundry. The office is helpful and professional, booking tours and such, and called me when a package I had ordered was delivered. The main plus of this place is, of course, the location; which is what you’re paying for. It is a very short walk to the Hop on Hop Off bus terminal (3 minutes; basically across a parking lot), which takes you all over the city. It is a very manageable walk (15 minutes) to downtown, Bourbon Street, the Garden District, or the river. Right outside the gate is an inner-city park with loads of grass and a nice walk, if you’re comfortable with inner city parks. Caught a great basketball game with some of the local kids, and discovered the stable area right across the park where the city Carriage Horses are stabled! Neat to look in at all the carriages and get my pony fix. Reviews about the area are over dramatic. I would not walk it alone at night, no. But then, there are few unfamiliar places I would walk at night alone. This is, indeed, the perfect place to see New Orleans if you’re an RV’er.

WoW, what a delight! I've had to write a few stinker reviews lately, so now, while I really should be working, I'm delighted to be writing this. My stay here started out amazing, and just got better. The reservation phone call, my greeting upon arrival by the owner, then his son (maybe 14?) showing me to my spot; what delightful people who truly care, and it shows in every aspect of this place. The spots do not have water or sewer, just electric, but everything is close by and convenient. Internet is fantastic, ATnT cell service adequate, although apparently Verizon works best here. The price of $17.50 with Passport America is such a bargain, I am amazed. I normally travel through Good Sam, and this park was not on their list. I'm so glad I checked PA or I would have missed this gem! I'm sitting under my awning, enjoying a gentle rain, looking out over the beautiful pond. I'm surrounded by beautiful planter boxes (someone has a gift for planting boxes!), in this incredibly tidy and neat little park. It is a "park," as beautiful as any park I've been in, with little rolling hills giving different elevations. Each site has tons of space, a picnic table, manicured grass, and a well-placed fire pit. The little pond has specified use areas; frog catching & fishing, a swimming beach and some little sit and appreciate areas. The whole place is gravel, so no riding bikes, but there is a very well equipped playground, and the little "swimmin hole" for kids. Oh and frog catching? That beats riding bikes any day! The bathrooms are rustic; painted cinderblock, but very adequate, well kept and VENTILATED. OMG I wish other places understood the importance of this. They even have a hotel-type hair dryer in them! There is a little storage building next to the bathhouse with a "honor system" washer and dryer. This place has everything. I wish I could get some work done instead of sitting out here enjoying it!

I had to look at the other reviews to see what people DIDN'T like about this place; ok, mosquitos... there is a LOT of standing water around here so yeah, I could see that being a problem during mosquito season, but I was here in January, so I didn't see it, and I've traveled extensively through the South and East so I don't think we could possibly have anything that equals Florida in July. Between the fear of being eaten alive by bugs and my dog eaten by an alligator, I couldn't get out of the South Fast enough. But that's another review...
Ok, the bathrooms are definitely campground-chic, but they're clean and tidy. That said, yeah, this isn't the place if you're a potty-snob. I'm an RV'er and I have that kinda thing handled so this place was amazing. Beautiful hiking trails for my pup; don't off-road there are paw-stickies and poison oak about (they have tried to mark it). Super nice sites with loads of room and all laid out so that you're not staring in your neighbor's windows or having to enjoy dinner with them AND their 10 kids right outside your door. Nice fire pits, if you like fire, which I don't. A lovely pavillion if you need something for a gathering. The "lake" is more of a big duck pond. I avoided it because of the fair amount of "goose goodies" my dog tends to hoover up. LOADS of trees. Lots of shade. Close to everything in San Diego, and a fair amount in OC where I'm from. There just isn't much in the way of nice campgrounds with hook ups nearby. For $29 this is a must go to. Bring the bikes for the kiddos; lots of very safe bike riding area. 5 bars for ATnT if you work from "home" like I do. Don't know about Verizon. Don't care. But if you don't want to hear the kiddos whine they aren't "connected," and you're with AT&T, this place has your back. ;)
