We really enjoyed our stay at Charleston Lake Provincial Park. A large, natural park with lots to do and see. We were only able to spend one night, but we’ll be back!

Had a great time. Green, quiet, and lots of space between sites.

Washrooms close to site (no shower) and fresh water taps nearby as well. Nice for a walk, some fun things to do, and just a nice spot to spend a quiet weekend when you want to get out of the city.

I just pulled into Windsor Campground on my way through and paid $10 to dump. Easy to do, right by the office, and easy to get in and out.

Quite possibly my favourite provincial park I’ve ever been to! We loved Rondeau!

The park is huge, has so much to see and do, has top quality staff and amenities, and the beach is wonderful. We couldn’t have had a better weekend at Rondeau and we’re already planning our next trip there because of how much we liked the park.

We stayed in site #11 and enjoyed. The sites are nicely sized and we had lots of privacy. The only small thing worth mentioning was the fact that the park was a little louder than other provincial parks. There were plenty of kids having fun and there was quite a bit of activity. It didn’t affect us or bother us at all, but worth mentioning for others who are looking for a quiet park.

Overall: Rondeau is one fantastic provincial park and it’s a ton of fun, from the wonderful beach to the many walking trails, from the pub just outside the front gate all the way to the park store that serves delicious ice cream!

We had a great time at Lazy Rock in Mattawa.

We usually stay in provincial parks, but this private campground appealed to us and we had a great time. The sites are smaller than we’re used to, but there were many positives:

Room service: They have a room service feature that delivers orders within 30 minutes. Need more ice? Firewood? An ice cream bar? You order on their site and they deliver it to your site. Loved it.

Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi throughout the park was the best we’ve seen in a long while. You could work using the Wi-Fi, it’s that good.

The views: Beautiful. The lake is so beautiful and the natural growth between the sites and the lake looked nice. Also, every day you can see a train pass on the other side of the lake. Very cool.

The docks: You can rent boats and use them on the lake. Or you can go swimming in the water off the docks or walk in via the beach. We swam in the lake and put our feet in off the docks - very enjoyable. You can also fish off one of the docks if you’d like.

Mattawa didn’t have a ton to offer and there’s not a lot to do in the surrounding area, but we were content to spend time in the park and around the lake. We really enjoyed it and recommend Lazy Rock to others!

We enjoyed our time at Linkletter Provincial Park near Summerside, PEI.

The park is very green, there’s lots of space to move around, and the facilities are great. The washrooms are a good size, very clean and well-kept, and there’s a few covered eating areas that can be quite useful while camping. The campground sits along a nice beach that can be used for walking, resting, playing, and definitely swimming. We did all of these things and had a blast.

We loved how green the space was and the grass was very healthy and well maintained. It’s a nice change, as many campsites we visit aren’t so grassy. There’s also some wood benches along the beach that we spent some time in and enjoyed the view & sound of the water. If you have kids, there’s also a park for kids with swing-set and more.

The only downside for us was the size and closeness of campsites. They are quite small and there’s no separation from your neighbours, which could be an issue for some. Everyone in our area were quiet, so it wasn’t an issue, but we prefer having some space between campsites, hence the 4-star rating.

Overall though, this is a lovely place to spend some time while camping, especially if the weather is warm and sunny, which it was for us!

We had a great overnight stay at Murphys Point Provincial Park. With the weather being so nice, we wanted to find a nearby campground to spend the night from where we live in downtown Ottawa. This park is now one of our favourites.

The beach was lovely and we were right in the water. The sites were nicely spaced and had nice tree coverage. The facilities were excellent as well. We saw 3 deer, a snake, listened to an assortment of birds, and the fireflies came out as we had a bonfire. Amazing!

The store was also quite nice and we were lucky to see that the park was doing ‘Open house guided tours’ of Silver Queen Mine, which was inside the park’s boundaries and was unbelievable. A great time with staff playing a part in the tour! Also, park staff and other campers were SO friendly.

We had a great time and will be back the first chance we get!

This was an okay provincial park to stay the night in. As someone who is used to Ontario Provincial Parks, it wasn’t at the same level as the parks we usually visit, but we spent a nice night here. The facilities were clean and large (only one men’s shower though) and a nice beach was just a 5 minute walk up the road, so it’s not a terrible park or anything.

It’s basically an open field on either side of the road with campsites sporadically placed throughout. There isn’t really anything else and, other than the beach, not much close. I didn’t see too many park staff around either, so I don’t know what the service would be like if you had an issue also.

Overall, a decent park and certainly nothing wrong with it. Just not a park we fell in love with.

We loved our time at Kettle Lakes Provincial Park!

It is a very secluded park with a long lane in that takes you from the busyness of life and lets you escape within the park, which has over 20 beautiful lakes, some hiking trails, and the sites are excellent. Our site was large, secluded, comfortable, and was steps from a lake, the washrooms, and a few minute walk to some excellent, clean showers.

Timmins and Porcupine were conveniently close if needed. Park staff are friendly and helpful, and the park had helpful supplies to purchase as well.

Overall a great provincial park we really enjoyed.
