Ratings Summary
Excellent spot to observe the spring bird migration. Great hiking and biking trails. Good canoeing and kayaking in Rondeau Bay. Campground OK. Older park, so sites a bit close together. Usual Ontario PP amenities (showers, laundry). Some sites were flooded out, so if coming in spring be aware.

During this crazy Covid and Provincial lockdown, we are going to explore many of our Provincial Parks this summer. A couple reservations were cancelled early in the season, but Rondeau Provincial Park was our first stop of 2021! Hooray!
The staff greeting us were very friendly and helpful, which is always nice! Our site, # 54 was very spacious, so-so level but with a couple of planks that we carry for assisting in levelling the drivers side of the trailer it was no issues.
The biking/hiking trails were loaded with bugs and mosquitoes, but with enough bug spray it was fine. The trail and road to the far end of the peninsula were great for riding our bikes. The beaches ran for several kilometres, but the water was a little cold for swimming.
Cell service was only 1 bar with Bell, but it was enough to "hot spot" our laptops for whatever we needed or wanted to do. Again, no issues at all.
Water spigots were available every few campsites or so if you need to top up your fresh water tanks, as we did. Access into and out of the dump and fresh water station was excellent! We have been to a few parks where the road in and out is tight or single wide. Again, wheeling a bigger 5th wheel, big access is always a plus!
And finally, the ice cream at the store just outside the park gates is amazing!

Quite possibly my favourite provincial park I’ve ever been to! We loved Rondeau!
The park is huge, has so much to see and do, has top quality staff and amenities, and the beach is wonderful. We couldn’t have had a better weekend at Rondeau and we’re already planning our next trip there because of how much we liked the park.
We stayed in site #11 and enjoyed. The sites are nicely sized and we had lots of privacy. The only small thing worth mentioning was the fact that the park was a little louder than other provincial parks. There were plenty of kids having fun and there was quite a bit of activity. It didn’t affect us or bother us at all, but worth mentioning for others who are looking for a quiet park.
Overall: Rondeau is one fantastic provincial park and it’s a ton of fun, from the wonderful beach to the many walking trails, from the pub just outside the front gate all the way to the park store that serves delicious ice cream!
