SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Just before the park if you are heading south there is a little store called "sand masters." Stop there!!! They are very friendly, helpful, and VERY reasonably priced if you are interested in sledding or boarding down the dunes. The dunes them-self are beautiful against the blue sky, and the temps were perfect in late June. You will enjoy it with or without the boards.
It was pretty cool, and I like rock formations. It was also very accessible for all which bolster the rating; and I LOVE the Oregon coast, but I feel slightly underwhelmed due to security fence placement and because it's a stop on the SPECTACULAR HWY 101. Kinda feels like looking at an eagle in a garden full of peacocks. Beautiful, but a little less eye catching.
A beautiful respite in an unexpected area of the city.
The idea is great and the forest were lovely, smelled so good, however I was not able to find the stone house on my limited timeframe. There were other things to find/see, and I would rate this higher on those, but the TITLE is abandoned creepy stone house....have time to search for it.
This is a very worthwhile stop. The artist (Dennis Smith) has done an AMAZING job of capturing emotions in his work. It is obvious his work resonates with the visitors via tokens and mementos. Unfortunately I don't think many have taken the time to take in this road side treasure. Wish they had a donation bucket I could have made a contribution into.
