Best things about the Rodeway Inn are: the price, the location is right before you enter Carlsbad Carverns, and the staff is friendly. I just wish they would do a better job at cleaning the rooms. The main items are clean: the bed, toilet, sink, shower. It is the the little details like the base boards, spots on walls; your eyes, fingerprints all over the refrigerator; your eyes get drawn to these spots.

I made my reservations a month in advance with Comfort Suites South. As we left Estes Park, CO we called the hotel to confirm the reservation and a late check in. When we arrived at 11 pm, we were informed that they had overbooked and had accidentally given our reservation away. Comfort Suites made no attempt to contact us prior to 11 pm of the mistake and offered no solution for other accommodations that was equitable to the reservation. We left and had to drive an additional 2 hours to Lubbock. We stayed at a Days Inn. Good price and nice room. We called the main manager in the morning at Comfort Suites to make sure my credit card would not be charged. The two managers from the previous day had not informed her of the incident at all. She said she would do a follow-up call this week; I still have not heard from her. Word of advice: Avoid Comfort Suites. Avoid Amarillo, TX.
